Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Mid-Quasi-Saint 141 Broke through alongside Eastern Emperor Taiyi during the Demon Race's rise.

Background

Di Jun resided in the Solar Divine Palace on the Solar Star, where he studied the River Diagram and Luo Script with Fuxi. Qing Huan recognized him early as a figure with the bearing of a future Heavenly Emperor, while Di Jun was willing to befriend the powerful Innate Deities gathered at Purple Heaven Palace 18 90.

He and Taiyi reacted with contempt when Hongjun appointed East Prince as Head of Male Immortals, regarding the position as unworthy of commanding the Primordial Era. Their dissatisfaction sharpened into hostility toward the Immortal Court and a determination to establish the Demon Race's own authority 41 73.

Appearance

Di Jun is depicted as a handsome, imposing ruler whose presence combines Solar True Fire with imperial authority. He commonly appears in an emperor's robe patterned with the sun, moon, stars, and Golden Crow motifs, wearing an imperial crown 108 160 282.

  • His eyes are compared to deep starfields or burning stars.
  • Solar True Fire and Imperial Dragon Qi surround him in battle or court.
  • He wears formal Sun, Moon, and Stars ceremonial robes during the Heavenly Marriage ceremony 239.
  • His imperial aura is amplified by the River Diagram and Luo Script and the Nine Dragon Heavenly Emperor Seal 139 152.

Personality

He regards the Witch Clan as the chief obstacle to Demon Race supremacy and repeatedly plans around gathering Destiny, recruiting Great Powers, and establishing heavenly order 78 139 162.

He is also receptive to capable counsel. He treats Qing Huan as an equal, seeks his strategic advice, and ultimately considers using the Great Formation of the Stars to replenish the Primordial Era rather than solely to conquer it 93 108 150. His willingness to recognize Fuxi's deduction and Qing Huan's insight is central to the Heavenly Court's development.

As ruler, Di Jun can be severe and ruthless. He purges karmic corruption from the Demon Race's Destiny and orders the extermination of human tribes to forge the Witch-Slaying Divine Sword, dismissing Bai Ze's warnings about karmic backlash 162 269. His resolve becomes increasingly personal after the deaths of his sons and dao companions, culminating in his self-destruction alongside Taiyi to deny Kunpeng the River Diagram and Luo Script 295 297.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Rise of the Demon Race

Di Jun began recruiting Innate Great Powers after recognizing that the Demon Race needed a stronger foundation to survive future conflict with the Witch Clan. He considered Kunpeng a particularly valuable recruit and cultivated an alliance with Fuxi, Taiyi, and eventually Qing Huan 78 93.

After entering Lingxiao Treasure Hall with Taiyi, Di Jun accepted the Nine Dragon Heavenly Emperor Seal and declared his intention to establish a new order. He and Taiyi subsequently founded the Demon Race and Heavenly Court in the Thirty-Three Heavens, receiving vast Heavenly Dao Merit and Destiny 139 140.

Heavenly Court and the Great Formations

Di Jun elevated Qing Huan as Celestial Venerable, consolidating the latter's equal position within the Demon Race. With Fuxi, he developed the Great Formation of the Stars, first regarding it as a weapon for unification before accepting Qing Huan's proposal to use it to stabilize and nourish the Primordial Era 141 150.

Under Di Jun and Taiyi's direction, the formation refined Chaos Qi into pure innate spiritual energy, restored damaged earth veins, and strengthened the world's origin. This earned the Heavenly Court broad recognition from Primordial Era powers 152 153.

First Witch-Demon War and the Truce

When the Witch Clan's violence against demons provoked demands for retaliation, Di Jun initially weighed the danger of immediate war. He accepted Bai Ze and Qing Huan's advice to consolidate the Demon Race before committing to battle 144 145.

He later led the Demon Race against the Witch Clan at Buzhou Mountain, commanding the Chaos Four Symbols Universe Great Formation and personally using stellar suppression techniques. Hongjun eventually halted the war and decreed that Demons would rule the heavens while Witches governed the earth, imposing a ten-thousand-aeon truce 205 206 220.

Cleansing and Preparation for Final War

As the truce neared its end, Di Jun purged the Demon Race's karmic corruption and announced his intention to settle Heaven and Earth through a decisive war against the Witch Clan. He prepared the Hunyuan River Diagram and Luo Script Great Formation and sought to expand the Heavenly Court's Quasi-Saint-level strength 162 277.

After witnessing a human remnant soul destroy a Witch warrior from within, Di Jun concluded that human souls could exploit the Witch Clan's weakness. Against Bai Ze's objections, he ordered the extermination of all human tribes to forge the Witch-Slaying Divine Sword 269 273.

Witch-Demon Decisive Battle and Death

Before the final battle, Di Jun entrusted the safety of his sons to Qing Huan and Nuwa. The death of one son drove him to swear vengeance against the Witch Clan, while Nuwa agreed only to protect his surviving child and remain neutral in the war 292 295.

The decisive battle devastated both races. Xi He and Chang Xi died in the Ancestral Witches' self-destruction, and Kunpeng betrayed Di Jun to seize the River Diagram and Luo Script. Having anticipated the betrayal, Di Jun used the Seven Symbols Treasure Umbrella to drag Kunpeng into a mutual self-destruction with Taiyi; Buzhou Mountain and the Heavenly River were destroyed in the blast 297.

Qing Huan preserved faint remnants of Di Jun and Taiyi's primordial spirits. Houtu later sent their residual souls into human reincarnation, while Qing Huan planned to secure Human Emperor positions for their reincarnated True Spirits 297 302 309.
