Background / History

Qing Mu was born with only Level Five Innate Soul Power, but his transmigrator soul was naturally stronger than that of ordinary people. His advancement soon became abnormally fast, while his combat talent made his parents fear that major factions would covet the secret behind his growth 3 8.

After obtaining his First Soul Ring, Bulbasaur fused a Wood Spirit Seed into him. The fusion strengthened Qing Mu’s body, changed his pupils to pale green, and gave him a conspicuous life aura that he learned to conceal 15 16. Nearly three years after Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur, Qing Mu had reached Level 29; Bulbasaur alone could contend with an ordinary Advanced Soul Ancestor 19.

During a Star Dou Great Forest expedition, Qing Mu aided Meng Yiran and stayed with her while she feared for Dragon Duke and Snake Dowager. He left without farewell once he sensed their return, choosing secrecy and freedom over traveling with her family 34.

He later entered the Suotuo Great Spirit Arena under the codename “Garlic Turtle.” His victories over Xiao Wu and Dai Mubai established his reputation, while repeated duels gave him practical experience against human Spirit Masters rather than Soul Beasts alone 39 44.

Appearance

Qing Mu’s Wood Spirit Seed fusion left him with pale-green pupils and a faint shimmering green life aura when it is not concealed. He can suppress both the aura and his true cultivation through the Wood Spirit Seed’s concealment effect 16 81.

• Fought in Suotuo under a black robe and mask to maintain the “Garlic Turtle” identity 36.
• Often travels beside Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, or Venusaur rather than treating his Martial Soul as an ordinary summoned tool 35 160.

Personality

Qing Mu is highly independent and protective of his secrets. He avoids factions and recruitment attempts unless a relationship offers clear practical value, refusing Yu Xiaogang as a master and later rejecting both courtly invitations and Spirit Hall’s offers 53 208 211.

In combat, he is calm, analytical, and willing to expose a specific weakness rather than assume raw power makes him invincible. He recognized that extreme-speed opponents could evade or escape his slower control techniques despite his advantage in direct combat 206.

His pragmatism can appear cold. He regarded Xiao Wu primarily as a Soul Beast after her disappearance, but he also shows compassion when he considers it warranted: he healed and released the Gale Eagle after defeating it, and he repeatedly prioritizes Bulbasaur’s well-being 70 85.

Early Training and the Wood Spirit Seed

Qing Mu’s rapid early development established the danger of exposing his abnormal talent. After reaching Level 10 and acquiring his first ring, his fusion with the Wood Spirit Seed gave him the physical foundation, concealment, and Wood affinity that shaped his future cultivation 8 16.

Star Dou Great Forest and Suotuo Arena

Qing Mu’s experiences in the Star Dou Great Forest taught him to survive alongside Bulbasaur, but left him with limited direct experience against human opponents. The Suotuo Great Spirit Arena corrected that weakness: as “Garlic Turtle,” he defeated Xiao Wu, Dai Mubai, and numerous Iron Badge Soul Elders while refining Leech Seed-based battlefield control 40 41 44.

Heaven Dou Academy and the Dugu Alliance

Qing Mu’s relationship with Ye Lingling led him to Heaven Dou Royal Academy, where Qin Ming granted him special privileges in exchange for his eventual participation in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament 80. His treatment of Dugu Bo’s poison then gave him access to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, rare herbs, and a powerful long-term ally 81.

Rise Beyond Conventional Ranks

Through high-level Soul Rings, pills, Immortal Herbs, and Bulbasaur’s evolutions, Qing Mu rapidly exceeded normal rank-based expectations. By the time he gained Grass Slide, Mega Evolution, and later Gigantamax, he had become capable of challenging Titled Douluo and Limit Douluo-level opponents despite his much lower visible cultivation 135 193 232.

Conflict with Spirit Hall

Spirit Hall’s attempts to assess, recruit, or politically bind Qing Mu failed. Magic Bear Douluo’s defeat proved that Qing Mu had combat power comparable to a Level 96–97 Titled Douluo while still a Soul Saint, prompting Bibi Dong and Qian Daoliu to consider recruitment, marriage alliances, and eventually direct force 206 207 211.

Qing Mu’s retaliation devastated Spirit Hall’s senior forces. Wood World Descends killed Yue Guan and Gui Mei, while Qing Mu’s combination attacks forced Qian Daoliu to retreat and apparently killed Bibi Dong before her later resurrection 216 217 221.

Divine Ascension

After reaching Level 98 and unveiling Brilliant Colorful Flower Blooming, Qing Mu attained godhood through accumulated experience rather than by inheriting an existing Divine Position. He then confronted Gu Yuena in her sealed recovery space and proposed healing her in exchange for temporary obedience 267 284.
