Background / History
Himeko meets Li Ming in California after joining him and Lyme for drinks. Though Li Ming reacts as if he already knows her, Himeko has no memory of him and accepts his informal “Hime-chan” nickname. She introduces herself as being from Eastern Seas. 26
She lives with—or near—her father, Ryusuke Murata, director of Schicksal’s Saint 7308 Research Institute. Ryusuke is protective of her and mistakes Li Ming’s following them to Caltech for an attempt to pursue his underage daughter. 27
After Ryusuke leaves on urgent work, Himeko invites Li Ming to watch Heavy Mech Alahato. The film reflects her long-standing fascination with mechs and space exploration, while its sacrifice-focused ending moves her to tears. 28
A [Code??? I Clone] attacks near the cinema shortly afterward. Li Ming evacuates Himeko from the danger zone, while Mint Candy later renders her unconscious and carries her through a wormhole to safety. Li Ming finds her afterward, takes her to a hospital, and carries her home. 29 32 33
The incident deepens Himeko’s connection with Li Ming. She invites him to dinner, learns of his wish to see his parents again, and asks him to join the Extraterrestrial Civilization Research club she wants to establish. 34
Appearance
Himeko is a tall teenage girl with red hair and hazel eyes. 26 27
- Often ties her hair back. 37
- Her apartment contains astronomy magazines and spaceship models, reflecting her interest in space. 34
- She wore a plaid shirt with a ribbon at the cinema and later wore light-colored shorts with a pale-blue top. 28 37
Personality
Himeko is enthusiastic, curious, and deeply invested in space exploration. She dreams of participating in the space industry like her father and eagerly imagines humanity discovering aliens and other civilizations. 28 34
She is emotionally open and empathetic, crying over the sacrifice in Heavy Mech Alahato. Although she becomes embarrassed when Li Ming catches her crying, she readily chases him down after he teases her. 28 29
Himeko can be persistent when something matters to her. She presses Li Ming for answers about the clone incident, insists on accompanying him to investigate it, and refuses to let him withdraw after he agrees to join her club. 34
Despite her enthusiasm, she is capable of focusing seriously on study and research. After the club is formally established, she shifts away from recruitment and devotes herself to her interests, ultimately helping identify an asteroid approaching the Solar System. 46
Academic Interests
Space and Extraterrestrial Civilizations
Himeko is interested in spaceships, alien life, undiscovered civilizations, and humanity’s future beyond Earth. Her childhood admiration for Heavy Mech Alahato was tied to her aspiration to enter the space industry. 28 34
- Founded the Extraterrestrial Civilization Research club with Li Ming as its initial second member. 34
- Initially struggles to recruit members and lacks both a computer and the skills to run a forum for the club. 38
- The club is eventually approved as an exception despite having fewer than five members, after Welt Yang and Ritsell Albert Einstein join as supervising teachers. 46
- Discovers a newly identified asteroid likely to be captured by the Sun’s gravity and enter the Solar System. 46
Personal Items
- Spacecraft models and astronomy publications — displayed in her apartment. 34
