Hu Shu looked at the clan members before him, some panicked, some worried. He took a deep breath and said loudly, "Don't panic, everyone. Our Human Race will never sit and wait for death!" All eyes turned toward him, a flicker of hope igniting within them. Yet Hu Shu knew clearly that with the Human Race's current strength, standing against the Chan Sect would be easier said than done. But he had no other choice. He could only lead his people in a desperate struggle. At that moment, the atmosphere in the council hall was grave, as though a difficult resistance was about to begin.

Hu Shu hurried onward, and the familiar outline of Shouyang Mountain gradually came into view. The wind howled through the forest, as if urging him onward. The earth beneath his feet was slightly damp, and each step stirred up a faint cloud of dust. The familiar scent of soil filled his nostrils. The news he had learned from the elder kept circling through his mind, leaving him deeply worried about the Future of the Human Race.

At last, the houses of the Human Race settlement on Shouyang Mountain came into sight. The children's laughter on the open ground abruptly ceased, replaced by the wary gazes of the adults. Hu Shu headed straight for the crude yet spacious council hall. Along the way, the clan members' eyes followed him closely. Seeing the solemn expression on Hu Shu's face, they seemed to sense the severity of the matter.

When Hu Shu entered the council hall, several knowledgeable elders of the clan were already seated around a table made of rough wood. The hall was dimly lit. Several shafts of sunlight slanted through gaps in the thatch, forming golden beams filled with dancing dust. Without wasting a moment, Hu Shu told them word by word of the Chan Sect's secret attempts to hinder the Human Race's growth and its scheme to turn the Human Race into sacrifices in the tribulation.

"What? The Chan Sect is actually this sinister?" An elder slammed his hand on the table, his face filled with shock and fury.

"What are we supposed to do? What should our Human Race do?" Another elder frowned deeply, his eyes full of worry.

Panic instantly spread across everyone's faces, and their whispered discussions were filled with unease. Hu Shu looked at them and pressed both hands downward, signaling for silence. "Don't panic yet. Since we already know their scheme, there must be a way to deal with it." Hu Shu's voice was calm and firm as he tried to soothe their turmoil.

"But, Hu Shu, the Chan Sect is powerful. Before them, our Human Race is no more than ants. What can we possibly do?" An elder shook his head helplessly, his eyes filled with despair.

Hu Shu frowned slightly, his resolute gaze sweeping across the crowd. "Though our Human Race is weak, we have the will to stand united. That is our strength." He paused, then continued, "I think the first thing we must do is strengthen our defenses. We are familiar with the terrain of Shouyang Mountain. We can use it to build defensive fortifications."

A young clan member stood up, a heroic spirit shining in his eyes. "Hu Shu, I am willing to lead everyone in setting up the defenses."

Hu Shu nodded and gave him an approving look. "Good. But defense is only one part of it. We must also find a way to strengthen ourselves."

At that moment, a white-haired elder slowly spoke. "I have heard that Within the Primordial World, certain places hold opportunities that can help the Human Race increase its strength. But such places are often fraught with danger."

A glimmer of light flashed through Hu Shu's eyes. "That may be a way. We can send people to search for these opportunities, but they must act with utmost caution."

The discussion continued for a long time. They considered everything, from the specific arrangement of the defensive fortifications to the selection of those who would leave to seek opportunities. Some voiced concerns that the clan members sent out might meet with disaster, while others doubted whether the fortifications could withstand an attack from the Chan Sect. Yet Hu Shu and the elders carefully considered every question, doing their best to devise countermeasures.

As the discussion deepened, the atmosphere in the council hall gradually shifted from initial panic to determination. Everyone understood that although the road ahead was difficult, they had to face it bravely for the Future of the Human Race.

However, after the others gradually departed, Hu Shu remained alone in the council hall, staring at the battered wooden door. Yet he was not completely confident. The Human Race was far too weak. Could they truly withstand a powerful force like the Chan Sect? His brows were tightly furrowed, and a trace of worry showed in his eyes. But soon, he clenched his fists. No matter what, he would do everything in his power to lead the Human Race through this crisis.
