J.A.R.V.I.S.
Entering the private grounds of the Stark Family mansion, Skye looked at the view from the window with surprise. "Wow, how big is this place? We've been driving here for so long and haven't even seen the house yet."
"We have to walk a little further up before we see it," Henry replied casually.
Lorna Dane, equally impressed but remaining silent, looked at the man who had spoken. "Henry, have you been here before?"
"When I was the CEO of Stark Studios in Los Angeles, Tony Stark would stay here whenever he came to the West Coast. I came here a few times to see this young master, so I remember this place, especially the old buildings."
"You mean the old houses that were demolished? What did they look like?" Lorna Dane asked absentmindedly, trying to be a good listener.
The Kryptonian, on the other hand, unleashed their full arrogance. "It's unclear when the old building was constructed, but it's evident that it was designed to resemble a 19th-century manor house."
"But after Tony Stark moved in, the exterior was ruined and became quite bizarre. Expanding outwards and adding to the upper part were minor issues. What was most unbearable was his tendency to come up with some incomprehensible designs."
"Like the gargoyles used on castles or buildings; a uniquely designed signboard that clashes terribly with the residence itself. Seriously, who would put an advertising sign on their own property?"
The two children, lacking experience, were completely unable to imagine what the old mansion looked like from Henry's description.
However, looking at that thing back then, Henry finally understood why Stark Tower in New York would later have an externally mounted giant Stark sign that was so badly damaged that only the letter "A" remained. That guy's ostentatiousness was truly ingrained in his very being.
What are the main color schemes of the Iron Man armor? Leaving aside the functional suits for special purposes, every single one of those flashy suits is gold and red, so tacky that you could display it at your doorstep as a lucky charm for the Lunar New Year.
However, as they passed the old mansion, Henry exclaimed in surprise, "Hey, I remember this is where the old house is. Wasn't the new house rebuilt on the same site?" Sitting in the back, Happy Hogan, without much thought, replied, "It wasn't rebuilt on the original site. You had to go up to the second floor of the old house to see the vast ocean view. Tony built the new house right on the edge of a cliff, offering a 270-degree panoramic view of the ocean."
"Is this Tony Stark trying to bury his dark past? Even if it's not a reconstruction on the original site, the buildings on the ground have been completely cleared away, leaving not a trace."
"Ha, I don't know that. The new villa is a little over there."
Guided by Happy Hogan, everyone saw Tony Stark's new home. This new villa was the cliffside villa that Henry remembered from his previous life in the movies, a villa that would eventually be blown up.
Malibu Manor consists of two connected buildings, one large and one small, each two stories above ground. The buildings, primarily constructed of concrete and glass, fully express a modern minimalist style, presenting a strong sense of industrialism and modernity.
It has to be said that it perfectly reflects Tony Stark's engineer personality. Even the two little girls were speechless with amazement when they saw this uniquely shaped house.
"Can houses be built like this? It looks like..." Skye looked back at Henry, at a loss for words, making it impossible to understand what the girl was trying to say.
So Henry could only give a casual answer, "This kind of rounded building shape is actually a design concept that tramples on land use efficiency and squanders land resources."
"You could say that this kind of waste truly shows that the owner of this building is a guy who doesn't care about money. But in another ten or twenty years, this style will be laughed at as tacky and vulgar."
"A hundred years from now, this style might become a representative example of antique architecture from a certain period in history textbooks. That is, if the building can survive until then."
Leaving aside the Kryptonian, this house will eventually be blown up because of Iron Man's good relationships. Advising Tony Stark to turn his house into a blast bunker now would be considered crazy.
In terms of architectural aesthetics, the two younger ones were no match for Henry. The only one who could speak, the old man, seemed to be reminiscing about the past, gazing at the now empty site of the old building. A few palm saplings were planted there, and it would take them several more years to grow up.
A limousine was parked at the main entrance, and a few steps away was a strangely shaped swimming pool. Floating on it were swimming rings, inflatable mattresses, and oddly shaped bathtub toys.
The floor-to-ceiling windows were wide open, revealing a naturally lit living room, but no one was inside.
Catherine Hepburn, supported by Virginia Potts, entered the house, unsure whether she should venture further inside. After all, it was quite impolite for the host not to greet her and for a guest to enter the house without permission.
However, just as Catherine Hepburn reached the living room sofa, the lights suddenly switched on, and a voice announced, "Good day, Ms. Hepburn, Mr. Brown, Ms. Putz, and Ms. Dane. Welcome."
Despite her advanced age and numerous ailments, Catherine Hepburn's mind remained remarkably sharp. The familiar voice immediately reminded her of someone from the past. "JARVIS, is that you? How can this be?"
"Ms. Hepburn, I am your 24/7 Artificial Intelligence assistant, codenamed JARVIS (jst_a_rater_very_intellient_system_aka_j. arvis). Not the Edwin JARVIS you know."
"Oh, okay. Where's Tony? I'm going to beat his ass to a pulp. His surprise didn't really surprise Henry, it scared me to death. I thought I was on my way to heaven."
Catherine Hepburn's reaction embarrassed even the Artificial Intelligence. But JARVIS's reply sounded equally intriguing to Henry. "Ms. Hepburn, due to a protection agreement, I cannot reveal the master's location to you."
"But today's banquet is in the living room on the basement level, where there are comfortable sofas and chairs and a beautiful sea view. Chef Wesley has also prepared delicious snacks and afternoon tea."
"You can take the single elevator to the basement level by following the light indicators. Other guests can go down the stairs or wait for the elevator to return."
They clearly mentioned some ridiculous protection agreement and didn't reveal Tony Stark's whereabouts. Yet JARVIS said so much, almost all of it implying that the young master was there! The flexibility and responsiveness of this Artificial Intelligence butler are truly incomparable to the programmed robots in our own BB system.
It's said that Red Queen lies and sets traps, JARVIS cleverly bypasses the underlying protocols to do things that shouldn't be allowed. It seems I still need to improve my defenses against Artificial Intelligence, and I can't trust C Mei and Sister too much.
Looking at the lights on the ceiling and the projected indicators on the floor, pointing to the locations of the elevator and stairs respectively, one can tell how much thought Tony Stark put into this intelligent building.
The so-called effort put in is not about transforming the mansion into a robot that can stand up and fight monsters, but rather about whether the details have been carefully considered and whether there are reasonable contingency plans.
It's no wonder Tony Stark dared to send Happy Hogan and Virginia Potts out on missions simultaneously. Assuming JARVIS is versatile enough, he certainly wouldn't have to worry about who would take care of him.
This is probably what Tony Stark wants to show off in front of me, Henry thought to himself.
No wonder the person who had seen the baby at the Hepburn Family didn't show any reaction, neither disdain nor envy. It turns out he was waiting here, holding back this big move.
It must be said that, based on first impressions, JARVIS's performance was indeed excellent.
