Their Respective Goals
Barbara Morse, who boarded the plane first, has a PhD in biology. So strictly speaking, she is a science major, not a humanities major.
If a science student isn't interested in airplanes, especially advanced jets that haven't been publicly revealed, then they probably won't go very far in their field.
Barbara is certainly not that kind of person. Moreover, the fact that she didn't choose an academic path but instead joined S.H.I.E.L.D.. as a secret agent of an official organization shows that she herself has an adventurous nature.
How could someone like that remain unmoved upon seeing an airplane?
So as soon as she boarded the plane, she sat in the co-pilot's seat next to Vers, touching and asking questions all over the place.
Perhaps because they were both women, and Vers had the kind of personality that exudes sisterly strength, she was happy to answer Barbara's questions.
Perhaps Vers was using the question-and-answer session to temporarily set aside the unanswerable worries in his mind.
Nick Fury, sitting in the back, was also busy. He asked Henry about what had happened while he and Barbara had stayed behind.
With an eyewitness present, Henry had nothing to hide and recounted the whole story in great detail.
"In other words, we can believe that more Skrulls have replaced the original S.H.I.E.L.D.. agents. And we can't tell if they are," Nick Fury concluded.
"Unless they slip up in their words or actions, that is certainly true," Henry replied.
However, in his memory, the Kree, his old enemies, had developed a Skrulls detector. Even Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic of the Fantastic Four, had developed a similar device to solve the Secret Invasion in the comic book events.
In other words, the imposter Skrulls had a method of detection. And this method did not require sampling; they could be detected simply by getting close.
Henry certainly used his Super Senses to analyze the data, but perhaps because the sample size was not large enough, he had not yet found an accurate method and only had a rough clue.
To elaborate, the inspiration came from a brainwave translator used to translate Tiger Language.
Different species exhibit different waveforms in nerve conduction. Moreover, the Skrulls are not carbon-based life forms, but rather composed of some kind of substance that does not exist on Earth.
Henry hasn't yet found a "pattern" to definitively identify a target as a transformed Skrulls. For now, he can only determine this based on their unusual behavior.
Once he calmed down, Nick Fury pondered when Kohler had been replaced and whether that superior officer was still alive.
However, Henry didn't let Nick Fury think it over; he also had a lot of questions to ask. Or rather, showing a certain amount of curiosity would help dispel the king of secret agents' suspicions. At least, it would prevent him from having the illusion that he was in control.
Where are we going now? To flee abroad?
"Of course not. We're going to Louisiana to find someone."
Who to look for?
Maria Rambo, a former Air Force test pilot and a member of Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S..
Why should we look for her?
"Because this relates to solving a mystery. We identify ourselves as Vers of the Kree Starforce, and he may have been the pilot in an expensive experimental machine accident six years ago. To find the answer, we can only ask fellow members of Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.."
"Is this related to the Skrulls?"
"It's related to the answer Vers is looking for."
"Then why did you get involved? This has nothing to do with you. Don't you think your most pressing issue should be resolving the Skrulls problem? Your home base is almost overrun by the Skrulls."
Nick Fury shook his head and said, "No, no, no, you're wrong, Henry. My intuition tells me that the answer lies with our Ms. Vers."
What are the Kree? What are the Skrull? What are they doing on Earth? Why is this related to the Air Force's Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S., a collaboration with NASA?
"You don't simply think that killing Skrulls you will end the matter, do you? As long as some kind of trigger remains, the Skrulls will keep popping up."
What we should do is find out the "why" and then find a way to solve the root cause. To do all this, we need intelligence, accurate and in-depth intelligence, not just superficial information.
"United States already has two million idiots who only know how to shoot, we don't need any more. But our job is to provide answers on which way the guns are pointed and who to shoot."
"Is that all?" Henry looked at the seemingly righteous Old Black with suspicion. "You even used the U.S. military as an example. When it comes to robbery skills, the U.S. military in this era claims to be second to none."
"Even in those wars we won, there were still those who profited. So, I don't believe you're only getting involved to solve problems."
"Ha, a clever young man." Nick Fury praised the man before him without reservation. Given the age difference between them, Nick Fury was perfectly justified in calling Henry a young man.
The sharp-eyed Old Black said frankly, "Even if you want to profit from this, you need to know who has what leverage and what position we are in."
"If a kitten tried to gain the upper hand in a fight between a lion and Tiger, it would probably be bitten to death."
Nick Fury picked up the orange cat, which was trying to jump into the driver's seat, and petted it in his arms. A question lingered in his mind, unspoken: why was this cat so affectionate towards "Vers"?
"--Of course I'm not foolish enough to think that aliens with space travel technology are someone Earth can challenge. But war is just one language of politics, and the weak have roles they can play. All we need to do is find a suitable entry point."
What Nick Fury didn't say, he still remembered the most important Infinity Formula used by his white-skinned father. It was the "Kree," which didn't exist on Earth.
He certainly wouldn't decide to side with the Skrulls and fight against the Kree for such a reason, just to stockpile some "medicinal herbs."
But it's impossible for him to ignore two alien races causing trouble on Earth; he has to at least figure out the cause and effect.
However, whatever he wanted to do, he lacked a lot of information, to the point that he couldn't even make any judgments. So he could only take it one step at a time.
Moreover, there was one aspect of this whole affair that was unexpected and also very interesting to him.
Nick Fury looked at the Tiger lying at Henry's feet. This apex predator of nature was actually crawling at a human's feet; even a Mutants who wasn't afraid of being bitten couldn't do such a thing.
"Actually, more than this farce of two alien gangs fighting, I'm curious, Henry, why does this have to do with you?" Nick Fury asked bluntly.
"I want to know too." That Kryptonian's honest thought. To be honest, he was probably the most confused person in this whole drama.
Henry stepped on Kitty, as if giving her a massage. The male tiger lay comfortably on its side on the cargo hold floor behind the jet, almost like a dog with its belly exposed.
