Kree Version of Krypton
"Ha, so this is what those shapeshifters were saying: Krypton offended every civilization in the universe, and therefore is being besieged by everyone?"
Yon Roger, having holstered his gun, first laughed. Then he said something quite different.
Throughout the Kree - Skrull Empire wars that lasted for hundreds of thousands of years, the territories of both sides remained largely unchanged. Both were wars waged by a single dominant civilization ruling over others, with the aim of eliminating the opposing dominant civilization and increasing one's own influence.
If we were to use Earth's history as a metaphor, it would be more like the Europe powers during the colonial era.
They conquered a place for the local market, resources, and manpower. It was not like the United States westward expansion, where the indigenous people Carnage so that white people could become the masters of the land and multiply.
Only in this way can a small number of dominant civilizations rule over a large number of different civilizations, forming a vast empire.
To ensure the foundation of their rule, the military power of the vassal civilizations was strictly limited. Therefore, the major war between the two sides was not like the Mongol conquests, where the Mongol army led several times its size of vassal forces in a "world war" of the cold weapon era.
Instead, the main civilization's armies clashed on the battlefield. Other servant civilizations provided resources and continuously manufactured the weapons and supplies needed for the war, aiming to drain these people of their blood and vitality.
The Solar System is located on the edge of the conflict between the two sides. The Kree Empire took the lead in building an outpost on Uranus's moon as a "beacon" against the Skrull Empire.
As for what the Kree Empire was doing on Earth, Yon-Rogge glossed over it. It was also unrelated to the original question, so Black Super didn't press him further.
Krypton is located in the Vega System, about 50 light-years from Earth. The Skrulls, on the other hand, originated in the Andromeda Galaxy and occupied most of the Milky Way Galaxy, including the Vega System.
This is tantamount to the emergence of a civilization that has entered the interstellar age within the territory of the Skrull Empire.
Following the Skrull Empire's pattern of conquest, when there are internal conflicts among planetary civilizations, they assess which one is worthy of their support and then help the supported one eliminate the other or the remaining civilizations.
What If...? the civilization is already unified internally, the shapeshifter's talents are used to infiltrate the civilization, overthrow its regime, and install a close associate to achieve the goal of domination.
However, the unique technological foundation inherent in Krypton Skrulls ' approach ineffective. The Skrull Empire's method for dealing with civilizations like this was Destroy, just as it had destroyed countless others.
Then Krypton rebelled.
The Skrull Empire, having underestimated its enemy, was once decimated by this planet that had just entered interstellar civilization. Such a civilization naturally became a target for the Kree to win over.
Until the Battle of Barrington Galaxy, the Skrull Empire annihilated the Krypton. Krypton used unknown technology to create Phantom Zone around the Rao system, preventing the Skrull fleet from invading and effectively isolating itself.
All of this happened approximately ten thousand years ago.
"So you're saying that Krypton's only enemy is the Skrulls, who consider themselves to represent the entire universe; while the Kree are allies who haven't helped at all, is that what you mean?"
Black Super summarized Yon Roger's statement, while expressing deep distrust regarding the clear bias in his words.
"You don't actually think this is some fabricated story I made up to win you over, do you? To come up with such a flimsy, easily exposed argument in such a short time? I'm a soldier, not a smooth-talking diplomat."
Black Super didn't press the issue of Krypton's stance. "I've heard enough about the animosity between Krypton and the Skrull Empire. So, what about information about the inner workings of Krypton? How much do you know?"
What Black Super didn't say was that, judging from the Skrulls' attitude of wanting to ruin and kill him whenever they encountered him, the animosity between the two sides might be deeper than imagined. But there's no need to say more about that.
As for the question about the Black Super, Yon Rogge did not shy away from answering it. "Regarding intelligence on Krypton, the Kree Empire also sent secret envoys during Krypton's most active period, providing considerable assistance. Therefore, they must have some understanding of it."
"I believe His Supreme Intelligence possesses more detailed information from that period. But I am merely a warrior, and my knowledge is limited to war history. The internal intelligence I personally possess is roughly the same as what the Skrulls have said."
"Supreme Intelligence," Black Super repeated the name, then asked, "Who is he?"
Although Black Super possessed memories from before his time travel, this name wasn't something he should know, and he wasn't sure if it matched what he already knew. So he decided to ask anyway.
Yon Rogge explained, "The Supreme Intelligence is a life calculator. It contains the brains of the greatest politicians, philosophers, scientists and thinkers in the history of the Kree Empire, which come together to create a single collective intelligence."
"Every five years, the people of the Kree Empire elect a representative. When he dies, his brain undergoes special processing and is transferred to the collective thought structure of the Supreme Intelligence. Therefore, the Supreme Intelligence is constantly evolving and never stagnates."
"Around... well, about nine hundred thousand years ago, with the orbital period of planet C53, the Supreme Intelligence was chosen as the absolute ruler of the Empire. So you can understand it as our leaders, sages, and elders."
It's similar to what Black Super knew.
In the Kree Empire, the Supreme Intelligence is not some distant, important figure, the kind that an ordinary person might never meet in their lifetime.
Because it is a biological computer, as long as there is a terminal or receiving device, it can allocate negligible resources to communicate with anyone.
She can act as an understanding older sister, or as a wise life mentor.
It was precisely this friendly attitude, and the absence of any major errors in decision-making, that enabled the Kree Empire to accept the long-term rule of the Supreme Intelligence.
Just as Black Super was pondering, Yon-Rog showed his intention to win him over, saying, "Kryptonian, What If...? you wish to know more, I can take you back to Hala to meet the Supreme Intelligence."
"I know that the person Bron-Char encountered on the cruiser was you. I can overlook his failure and the losses you caused. But before that, I need your assistance."
Assistance? Of course, Black Super noticed that Captain Marvel, who had just destroyed a warship and scared away Ronan the Accuser's remaining fleet, had returned to the ground.
Yon Rogge also raised his gun again, aiming it at the traitor in his eyes from the Kree Starforce.
Since she no longer emanated flames, it seemed she had emerged from her Binary state. However, this didn't mean she was weak now. She was a woman who would kill or not kill based solely on her desire, not her ability.
"Who are you, man in black?" Carol Danvers demanded sharply.
Of course, Black Super wouldn't be foolish enough to leave the galaxy illuminated by the Yellow Sun and run off to another galaxy.
He now knows that Kryptonian are a race that relies heavily on "location." If they wander into the wrong place, they can kill themselves without even needing enemy attacks.
How desperate would someone have to be to leave Earth?
So you're going to side with the Kree? Don't be ridiculous.
Glancing at the furious Carol Danvers, the Black Super sunglasses said, "I was just passing by. You guys look like you have a score to settle. Leave me alone."
He then said to Yon Rogge, "This is not my war. Your terms mean nothing to me. So, you'd better watch yourself, Kree."
However, Black Super's answer did not satisfy Carol Danvers. She turned to Yon Rogers and asked, "Who is he?"
"I don't know either." The two bewildered people exchanged glances. Just as they were about to press for more information, they realized the person had vanished!
The skill with which he vanished was like a max-level skill built into the suit itself; neither of the two elite members from the Kree Starforce could detect how the Black Super disappeared.
The two men, of course, did not let this little incident interrupt their conversation.
Yon-Rogg sheathed his gun again. He began with "I'm so proud of you," attempting to awaken the Kree warrior pride that Vers had been pursuing for the past six years under his command.
Then he was blasted away by a Photon Blast...
