Dark Undercurrents Lurk
In March 1997, Charlize Theron was nearing the end of filming for "The Devil's Advocate" in New York. The filming would then move to Florida for a second round of shooting.
This is also Charlize Theron's first time experiencing a filming process that lasts for several months. And this isn't some action-packed blockbuster; it's just a drama film.
It's easy to imagine how demanding the director was of every detail the actors made in front of the camera. Forget about being yelled "cut" for poor expressions or acting; even a movement that didn't coordinate with the lighting would require the shot to be reshot.
Charlize Theron's honed acting skills finally had a chance to shine in this film.
Whether facing Keanu Reeves, a superstar who achieved fame in the 1994 film "Speed," or El Pacino, a veteran actor with an Oscars for Best Actor, Charlize was able to deliver a performance that was no less impressive than theirs.
She didn't try to overshadow any of her co-stars, and of course, she didn't panic or forget her lines like a nervous little girl facing El Pacino's demanding acting skills.
Even if the director wasn't satisfied with such a performance, it was rare for Oscars actor El to offer a few words of praise. Other actresses who wanted to challenge Charlize's position naturally had even less hope.
Filming for Titanic wrapped up around the same time, which meant post-production was about to begin. James Cameron's Digital Domain even sent key personnel to the "Hollywood Kid's" supercomputer center.
Led by Scott Thaddeus Ross from Lucasfilm's Industrial Light & Magic and Stan Winston, a special effects expert who has long collaborated with James Cameron, and in collaboration with Stark Studios' newly established computer effects department, the team embarked on the special effects design for the film's visuals.
The physics engine edited during filming has been tested and has reached a certain level. The next step is to verify its results in real-world scenarios and continue to refine it.
Henry, the CEO of Stark Studios, remains hidden behind the scenes, occasionally offering guidance to his subordinates on work-related difficulties. In short, he is elusive and avoids public appearances whenever possible.
For Henry, his life in the Marvel Universe seemed to be getting better and better. He was successful in his career, had a beautiful woman by his side, his secret research on alien technology was on track, and his Undersea Laboratory was officially opened.
Although nothing of noteworthy quality has been produced yet, the technology Henry has mastered has completely broken free from the limitations of Earth's technology and is moving towards the realm of cutting-edge technology.
It's as if all I need to do is buy a big house and have a healthy baby boy, and my life will be complete. Who cares how dangerous the Marvel Universe? As long as I'm living a comfortable life this time, that's all that matters.
But how could such a good thing happen to a Kryptonian?
Firstly, the girl's career in the entertainment industry did not receive a good response.
Charlize Theron's television movie, * Hollywood Confidential *, aired as a pilot episode on Paramount's UPN on April 14th to see if it had the potential to become a series.
Then came a final, resounding performance.
On May 30th, the movie <Trial and Error> was released. This is a comedy starring veteran actors Michael Richards and Jeff Daniels.
Charlize Theron made her big-screen debut as a leading actress. The film was agreed upon after * the Devil's Advocate *, and both filming and release were expedited. The girl's leading role was given a different film, but it didn't yield good results.
Despite decent reviews, the film's production cost of 25 million only yielded around 14.5 million at the box office, resulting in a huge loss!
However, the film's failure cannot be entirely blamed on the actors. This is because the film "Jurassic Park: The Lost World" was released the previous week, on May 23.
A film with a budget of 75 million, raking in a staggering 618.6 million worldwide! A girl's movie, where she's simply trampled to death by dinosaurs...
In this situation, even the Superman couldn't turn the tide, let alone the Kryptonian. That guy might be good at saving the world, but he doesn't care what movies ordinary people watch.
Charlize Theron didn't even have time to grieve over the film's failure; in July, she continued filming "The Devil's Advocate," moving production from New York to Jacksonville, Florida.
Another Stark Studios film with a huge budget didn't make things easy for Henry either. Don't assume that just because the Tyrant on set is gone, he'll become a universally loved good guy.
Since the post-production of Titanic officially began, director James Cameron personally oversaw the project. After discovering how useful Henry Brown was, he even dared to stake out the location and bring Henry to work!
He even got along well with the Tabby Cat Kitty, so even if someone wanted to unleash Tiger to bite him, they wouldn't dare! He always brings up Stark Studios ' $65 million investment!
If you don't want your movie to lose money, how can you not make the visuals as perfect as possible?
This perfectly illustrates the truth of modern society: being in debt is the ultimate boss.
So the Stark Studios CEO, who was always hiding behind Git, diligently reported to the "Hollywood Kid's" supercomputer center every day, becoming Tony Stark's daily source of amusement during that period.
Every time he calls, he'll eagerly inquire about the post-production progress of the film. This guy isn't interested in the movie; he's there to laugh at us!
Even if the movie really loses all its money, Tony Stark will still be happy.
As a boss who sleeps with a different beauty every day and only goes to work when I'm in a good mood, I can't stand seeing my subordinates skipping work hours, slacking off all day, and stealing my paycheck. How can I allow them to live a more comfortable life than their boss!
Henry even wanted to plant James Cameron on the moon. And instead of shouting "I am the king of the world" at the Oscars, why not just have "I look down on all living beings" on his epitaph? Wouldn't that be cooler?
Besides work-related problems, the Dark World is also far from peaceful.
The downfall of the Arden Family caused Old Money, who had initially harbored ambitions to attach himself to Vampires, to quickly back down. This was a blow to the Vampires, neither a huge nor a small one.
According to Jews business theory, if money that could have been earned isn't actually earned, then it's a loss. From this perspective, the Vampires have suffered a huge loss.
How could the Vampires, who have always believed themselves to be the masters of the earth, possibly accept this!
They never considered that it was actually the Camarilla's hidden rules protecting them, yet they mistakenly believed they were in control of everything in their own little world.
They deserve to rule the whole world.
Moreover, it wasn't just Old Money's disdain that touched their fragile and sensitive nerves; the aggressive attacks from the Vampires hunters also made many Vampires consider retaliating.
It is said that where there is oppression, there will be resistance.
These radical young Vampires, uniting with the conversion faction who are discriminated against by natural-born Vampires, are becoming increasingly reckless in their actions.
Some Vampires even brazenly walk in the Sun Pharma using sunscreen that only lasts for a short time, openly confronting Vampires hunters who didn't expect to be attacked during the day.
These attacks were all exposed to human scrutiny. Even those "insiders" who helped cover them up gradually became dissatisfied.
Henry, who was originally hidden behind the scenes and not considered a target by the Vampires, was finally targeted because of the Ardens.
However, Henry is not as threatening as those Vampires hunters, so he has not yet become a primary target.
However, the unrest from the Dark World gradually began to affect the ordinary lives of Los Angeles residents.
Just as Henry was pondering how to escalate his actions against the Vampires, another major event with far-reaching implications for the Marvel Universe was unfolding across the Atlantic Ocean.
