Evernight Temple
The Evernight Temple was built by the first Vampires to arrive in the Los Angeles area, before even towns had been established. It is a temple with an ancient tradition.
Unlike most religious buildings that face the sky, the Evernight Temple is built underground. This is why this unique building belonging to Vampires has not been exposed to the public.
The grounds of the Evernight Temple are an abandoned construction site located in the West Side of Los Angeles. It is far from the city center, and there are no lively places around it. This deliberately created sense of desolation is naturally the work of Vampires.
This shows that the Vampires wield considerable power in Los Angeles. Otherwise, how could they have allowed a vacant lot in the city to remain undeveloped and unplanned as a green park for so long?
However, most people who become Vampires are not devout and steadfast believers. The establishment of this temple was less about becoming a center of faith for Vampires on the West Coast of North America, and more about the actual manifestation of some kind of power.
In North America, most Vampires belong to the Mystikos Sect of the thirteen ancient factions. However, the twelve ancient clans were the first to establish their power in the Los Angeles area on the West Coast.
The Evernight Temple bears the marks of twelve ancient Vampires clans, which once represented supreme power.
However, in reality, unruly Vampires are not so easily subdued. Apart from recording the twelve ancient clans, the Evernight Temple has long been forgotten by the Vampires and is no longer representative.
Even today, when Green Arrow Duck arrives at the location of Evernight Temple, without the abilities of the person in charge, relying solely on the reconnaissance capabilities of the armor, they would have truly missed this underground structure.
This Vampires temple, built of granite, extends twenty to thirty meters underground. Giant statues symbolizing Vampires are carved in the four cardinal directions. Since it is used by Vampires, natural lighting is obviously not used for its interior. Vampires with night vision have no problem moving around inside.
However, modern Vampires have a considerable number of human servants or members of their Vampires party who do not have the ability to see in the dark.
Therefore, many temporary power lines were laid inside the Evernight Temple, mainly to provide lighting and a small amount of ventilation and air exchange equipment, in order to prevent humans, who are considered weak by Vampires, from dying in this environment.
When the Green Arrow Duck arrived, it was just past midnight. The Blood God's Descent Ceremony was underway below.
The entire ritual was like a movie memory before time travel: Vampires with the abilities of Daywalker was trapped in a stone coffin on the top floor of the Evernight Temple. His blood would be the key to activating the ritual.
So, Blade, bound in the sarcophagus, had his wrists slashed, and blood flowed continuously. His blood was collected and distributed through pipes on the surface and underground, with a small portion first dripping onto the foreheads of the twelve members of the ancient Vampires clan.
This blood acts as a kind of marker, connecting the energy of these twelve members to the temple. At this stage, even without other thugs to keep these clan members in their positions, they are no longer able to escape.
Directly beneath the central dome stood three Vampires, two men and one woman, yearning to transform into the Blood God.
Besides Dickon Thaddeus Ross, there's Blade's old rival, the invincible Quinn, and Thaddeus Ross's second-in-command, the beautiful Vampires Raquel.
The last girl was actually the beautiful Vampires who led the way when Henry first met Gitano Dragonetti.
Green Arrow Duck, who was about to rush in to save the man, noticed that a black woman had gotten there first and reached the sacrificial chamber where Blade was trapped in the sarcophagus, releasing the half- Vampires who was on the verge of death.
Unfortunately, Blade's blood loss was too severe, and even though Green Arrow Duck had various serums on him, they couldn't help this half- Vampires who was barely clinging to life.
The female doctor readily offered her neck. The sweet temptation and the desire for life made this half- Vampires, who was unwilling to drink human blood, break her vow. She bared her sharp fangs and bit down.
Seeing their actions, even more passionate than a kiss, Green Arrow Duck knew there was no need to worry about this Old Black. Blood had a healing effect on Vampires in the Marvel Universe that was better than any magic potion.
In contrast, the Vampires on the main altar waited with trepidation for events to unfold. After all, this was a ritual process forcibly translated from a script no one understood.
Most Vampires weren't very confident about this, at most just trying it out. Only Dickon Thaddeus Ross, right in the center, firmly believed it could come true, because he was like a gambler who had gone all in at the poker table, with no way out.
Just then, Quinn received a phone call, and he listened to the news while cursing. Even after hanging up, he was still muttering incoherently.
Rather than staring intently at the ceiling, wondering what would happen next, Deacon Thaddeus Ross, the beautiful Raquel who was second-in-command, was more concerned about the news Quinn had received.
What happened?
"The remaining staff at Ejiwota called. They said a Donald Duck dressed as Robin Hood, carrying a machine gun, broke in and killed many people. Even some of the Vampires on duty died."
Even Raquel, who always maintained a cool and aloof expression, was dumbfounded and asked, "What the hell is going on? Are they high on drugs and calling to spout nonsense?"
Dickon Thaddeus Ross, of course, wasn't going to ignore it. Hearing their conversation, he said nonchalantly, "Ignore him. Once the ceremony here is over, we'll become the Vampires Gods, and all enemies will grovel before us."
"Haha, that's right." Quinn, the crazy Vampires, laughed heartlessly.
However, to their surprise, the Blade at the top had already escaped and had just finished a fierce battle.
Blade initially believed his deceased mother had actually become Vampires and was living with Dickon Thaddeus Ross. Her beliefs were no longer those of a human being, and she was worlds apart from her child, who harbored deep resentment towards Vampires.
Ultimately, Blade sent his mother away, severed his path towards Vampires acceptance, and insisted on living like a human being. Then he left, preparing to confront the person responsible for his current predicament: Dickon Thaddeus Ross.
And the Vampires who was being thought of was seeing blood flowing from the twelve circular holes in the dome.
The trickling blood flowed towards the very bottom of the sphere. Dickon Thaddeus Ross believed that this flowing blood would be key to the entire ritual.
Compared to the Vampires underground, the Green Arrow Duck, who has not yet entered the Evernight Temple, is more able to perceive changes in the outside climate.
The once clear, cloudless night sky was now being obscured by drifting dark clouds, which seemed to foreshadow something bad about to happen.
