Miscalculation

George Stacy, commissioner of the New York City Police Department, called about Henry and the others being at the Oscorp Carnival. He asked a few questions, then left it at that.

Rather than checking on them, George was really weighing whether to call them in to give statements.

But Henry explained his part in just a few words: he had helped save some people, and only by administering first aid. There was nothing particularly troublesome about that, so there was no need to summon him for questioning.

Another reason was that far too many people at the Oscorp Carnival had witnessed Spider-Man and another man in green armor riding a Goblin Glider. Just recording all their statements had nearly overwhelmed the New York City Police Department.

Calling in one more person would not help much. It was not as though Henry's testimony would let them immediately bring Spider-Man or that green guy to justice.

So Henry had dodged a bullet.

But he had celebrated too soon. It never occurred to Henry that the Green Goblin had already noticed him. The Green Goblin had simply been too busy dealing with Spider-Man to come after him.

Soon, Henry put that minor incident out of his mind. He figured that as long as he stayed far away, trouble would never touch him.

But Henry had failed to consider that getting into a car accident did not necessarily mean crashing into someone else's car. Someone else could crash into him.
