Who Was the Target?
The incredibly fierce Tony Stark was like a gun god, constantly advancing with standard tactical maneuvers. He would unleash a barrage of fire on anyone with a gun, and his record was impeccable.
In reality, Henry was the one providing backup. If Tony's rifle was about to miss, he would fire a finishing shot to send these gunmen, who were not necessarily from the Continental Hotel, on their way.
Along the way, it seemed that the other side did not go on a killing spree. Most of the guests or hosts at the banquet were simply herded into the corners of the rooms like quails.
The gunshots we heard earlier were mostly warnings. Only a very small number of people who were mentally unstable, those who were high on drugs, suddenly rebelled and were shot, after which they quieted down.
In comparison, the Tony and Henry duo are the real ruthless ones...
Those hit by Henry, as long as they receive timely medical attention, have a chance to survive and there is no concern about them being disabled.
Tony's marksmanship is inconsistent. He's been shot in the head and fallen to the ground, and sometimes he's been shot in the body and still barely clinging to life.
Fortunately, Tony Stark didn't have the habit of finishing off his opponents; he was focused on eliminating the threat of the banquet as quickly as possible.
Finally, the two of them managed to clear out the first floor of the villa. Tony also told the survivors that Stark Industries ' security team would arrive shortly, and everyone should stay put and find a hiding place.
Of course, some of the bolder individuals picked up the guns brought by the gunmen and fled, either with their companions or alone. All of them were eager to leave the villa as quickly as possible to avoid further involvement in the gunfight.
Just as Henry couldn't stop Tony's actions, Tony Stark couldn't command this group of strangers from all over the world.
After all, everyone is only responsible for their own life. It could also be said that the young master of the Stark Family in this era was not yet a pillar of support. If one could escape, who would stay on the battlefield?
Whether to continue cleaning up to the second floor or to tackle the troublesome poolside open area was not an option at all. Because Tony was already hiding at the edge of the large floor-to-ceiling windows, able to see the scene by the pool.
The scene outside the floor-to-ceiling windows shows two groups of people controlling everyone around the pool from the front and back.
The girls who were originally in the pool on the inflatable mats were also herded to the poolside. Whether they were invited guests or receptionists and playmates sent by the banquet company, they were all crowded together.
One group of gunmen was questioning the group intensely, even threatening them with guns.
Having already discarded his empty rifle and switched to a pistol, Tony asked Henry, "Are you confident you can handle one of these groups?"
Henry removed the magazine, glanced at it, and then put it back in, saying, "I have two bullets left."
A word is worth a thousand words; Tony had already given up all hope for Henry. He was deep in thought, trying to figure out how to deal with the gunman without harming the hostages.
Before he could find the answer, perhaps the earlier conversation, or perhaps the sound of Henry unloading and reloading magazines, caught the attention of the gunmen by the pool. One group of them walked into the villa and fired wildly at the French windows.
Meanwhile, a third group of gunmen entered the pool area.
The situation took a sharp turn for the worse.
Instead of dodging, Tony Stark charged out through the shattered French windows and returned fire at the group of gunmen firing wildly.
The sudden appearance of the two men startled the gunmen by the pool. The group that had been firing wildly split up, firing while searching for cover.
The other two groups of gunmen in the distance also raised their guns and fired.
Tony, while running, fired wildly, taking down one of the men. Henry then finished off the remaining two. Without stopping, the two rushed to a low flower bed and hid themselves.
At that moment, the flower bed they were leaning against was hit by a hail of gunfire. Whether they were the future Iron Man or the Kryptonian, they could only crouch down as low as possible to hide two people behind the small flower bed.
Of course, one person was there to cause trouble. So Henry consciously hid in a relatively outer position to ensure that the young Stark Family wouldn't cry out in pain from being shot.
Tony ejected the magazine, saw it was empty, and realized he only had one round left in the chamber. He asked, "Do you have any bullets left?"
Henry showed off his pistol, which had its holster snapped open, without saying a word. Then Tony cursed, "Fuck."
At this point, the gunmen on the other side stopped firing as the sound of police sirens could be heard in the distance, and the gunmen didn't have much time to escape.
The gunmen were equally anxious, with one yelling, "Damn it, has anyone found the target yet?"
The same group then brandished guns at the people they had taken control of, shouting, "Where is Josh Hill?! Has anyone seen him?"
"Don't think those two can be your saviors. They're in dire straits themselves, you know? Maybe I don't need to keep so many people; just one who can speak up will suffice."
The new gunmen asked in a helpless tone, "Does none of you recognize the target's face?"
"Fuck you! If you knew, you wouldn't be asking around here for so long." The person who was cursing suddenly fired a shot. It's unclear whether it hit anyone, but it terrified the people who were being held captive, causing them to scream.
The new group advised, "Alright, don't scare them. At least they're loyal, which is commendable."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
Another gunshot rang out, this time accompanied by a scream like a pig being slaughtered.
The shooter was from the new group of gunmen. The leader said, "Josh Hill, you have a bunch of good friends. But clearly, that's not enough."
"Why!"
Henry, hiding behind the flowerbed, recognized the chubby boy's voice. It really did sound like a pig being slaughtered.
The gunman said, "Oh, you're lucky. The employer had a specific request: before killing you, he wanted you to know why."
"You're going to kill me too!"
"You don't think we came all this way just to make another hole in your ass, do you?"
"Spare me, I beg you, spare me!"
"Begging me won't help, because you've said too many things you shouldn't have, and too many people know. The employer doesn't like things getting out of control when he can't see you; you should know that."
"I was wrong, I won't say it again. Please forgive me this time."
"You've come to the wrong person, Mr. Hill. We're only responsible for killing you, not for forgiving you. Take my advice, go and repent to God."
"Wait!" Tony shouted, and just as he was about to get up, Henry pulled him down again.
Two bullets were fired over their heads, showing that the group had been waiting for the two heroes to emerge. The third shot then silenced the fat boy's screams.
