Going to Dinner

Following behind Tony Stark, who was wearing a bespoke suit but without a tie or bow tie, with the top button undone, Henry was glad he had given up on the water-damaged suit he had bought and instead rented another one.

Although his current fashion sense makes it impossible for him to distinguish between a bespoke suit and a cheap one, he manages to maintain a respectable appearance.

Holding a bouquet of yellow roses mixed with lilies is a common courtesy for a first visit to the United States. A small gift or a bottle of wine would also be appropriate.

Considering the other party's wealth, and estimating that he couldn't afford a gift or wine that the other party would appreciate, Henry brought a bouquet of flowers instead.

In fact, from the moment Henry appeared with a bouquet of flowers, Tony Stark had been laughing the whole way, a very lewd laugh. It made the Kryptonian's fists itch with rage, wanting to punch the future Iron Man in the face.

Henry used immense willpower to restrain his impulse, and then, with 120% of his Oscar-worthy acting skills, controlled his facial muscles to put on a kind and friendly smile. The smile sent chills down Mr. Stark's spine.

The dinner party was held at one of the Stark Family's villas in Beverly Hills. However, Tony didn't live there, so he came from somewhere else.

On the way, Henry nervously asked Tony, "Why do you think Ms. Hepburn would stay at your villa?"

"As I said, she lives in Connecticut now that she's retired from acting, and when she comes to Los Angeles, she mostly stays in hotels. But some old friends need a place to get together, so they borrow my villa. Sometimes she even stays there."

"So, your family had a good relationship with Ms. Hepburn?" Henry asked thoughtfully, then with a look of sudden realization. "Oh, wow~ could it be..."

"Shut up. I think you're thinking something very rude. If you're going to say something you shouldn't, get back here."

Tony Stark had no desire to discuss the romantic escapades of the older generation.

Henry, on the other hand, wondered: Was Howard Stark in this world really living such a wild life? Had he ever lost his way with any girls from the Golden Age?

The Stark Family's villa in Beverly Hills was in no way inferior to the place Henry had seen before, which was rented by the banquet company.

The house is rather old-fashioned, like a manor house from the last century. I really don't know whose personality this tacky style is.

As he passed through the iron gate, Tony Stark rolled down his window and said only one sentence into the walkie-talkie, "It's me."

Henry was immediately shown what it meant to get through security by facial recognition; the large iron gate in front of the courtyard opened directly.

That flashy red Ferrari was slammed into the courtyard by a sudden burst of acceleration.

To be honest, Henry seriously felt that so-called sports cars were just things that didn't consider comfort. Kryptonian 'd much rather ride in that damn thing than in his secondhand vintage Cadillac bought in Alaska.

But at that moment, Henry didn't have time to think about whether his butt would bump into someone. His mind was completely filled with the nervousness of meeting his idol, and he couldn't think of anything else.

After getting out of the car, the first thing Henry did was use his other hand, besides the bouquet, to smooth out the wrinkles in his cheap suit.

"They've arrived."

A distinct female voice came from behind the villa's main entrance, making Henry's heart leap into his throat, his heart pounding at an alarming rate.

As soon as the door opened, Henry immediately bowed his head and presented the bouquet of flowers, saying, "Hello, Ms. Hepburn, I'm a huge fan of yours!"

Oh, really?

The woman's voice was quite different from what I had imagined; it was sharper and crisper, rather than the slightly deep and gentle voice I had expected.

After Henry accepted the flowers from the famous star in front of him, he finally looked up at the person. Unexpectedly, what came into view was the face of a beautiful woman in her twilight years with deep features and sharp eyes.

"Oh, it's Ms. Hepburn..."

The frustration in his voice was crystal clear.

Catherine Hepburn immediately shot her a glare and said sternly, "You could exaggerate your disappointment any more, or I promise I won't break your nose."

Belatedly realizing his mistake, Henry quickly tried to salvage the situation, saying, "Oh, Ms. Hepburn, please forgive my rudeness. I am indeed a fan of yours."

"Whether it's Morning Glory, which won you the Oscars for Best Actress, or the two masterpieces, Bringing Up Baby and New Favorites, they are all my favorites."

"Even your later works, such as 'The African Queen,' 'Suddenly, Last Summer,' and 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? ', are all memorable and unforgettable. Your performances in these films prove that you are not only beautiful, but also a top-notch actress with excellent acting skills."

Catherine peeked out from behind the bouquet at the son of an acquaintance standing behind Henry and said, "Tony Stark, tell me about this friend of yours who's always quick to speak."

"Catherine, this girl is just a minor Hollywood actress."

"Hmm." The voice clearly indicated disbelief that this was all there was to it.

"He's a bit clever."

"Hmm!" The voice rose slightly. For a man from the Stark Family to praise someone for having a bit of cleverness, that person must be exceptionally intelligent.

"Do you remember the big shooting incident a while ago? He was the one who helped me fight off those killers."

"Hmm!" Catherine raised an eyebrow and looked at the unfamiliar young man again.

Henry nodded and touched his chest, saying, "Henry Brown, it's an honor to meet you, Ms. Hepburn."

"Just call me Catherine, kid. Otherwise, you might easily think of another Hepburn," the aging star joked. "Come in, Tony Stark, this is your home."

"No," Tony Stark said, "This is the old man's house, it has nothing to do with me."

"Hmph, men of the Stark Family." Catherine made way for the doorway and scoffed.

Henry wasn't so pretentious; instead, he went inside and stood in front of the automatically closing door for Catherine.

The aging superstar stepped aside, saying, "If Tony Stark doesn't want to come in, let him stand outside as punishment. Kid, come with me."

"Here we are." Henry scurried after them, leaving the arrogant young master behind.

"Damn it, Catherine, you're the friend I'm talking to!"

"Have you ever seen a friend whose obligations include soothing children?" Catherine Hepburn mercilessly unleashed her ultimate move, humiliating the eldest son of the Stark Family like a grandson.

Tony opened the half-closed door himself, entered, and continued, "I also called today's chef."

"You can call them back, then I can show off my skills." Catherine wasn't going to indulge the child and continued stabbing with the knife.

Henry chimed in, "I also have some experience in cooking; I can help out."

"Oh, that's great. It seems we now clearly know who the most useless person among us is."
