Background

Mito was born during the Warring States Period and received a rigid traditional upbringing as the daughter of Uzumaki Ashina, the previous head of the Uzumaki Clan. She married Hashirama Senju to preserve the relationship between the Uzumaki and Senju clans. 3 37

The Uzumaki Clan contributed sealing and barrier techniques to Konoha, with Mito personally creating the spherical sensory barrier above the village. After Hashirama subdued the Nine-Tails, Mito sealed it inside herself with Adamantine Sealing Chains, becoming the first Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. She spent the latter part of her life as its container before dying. 37

Her soul later awakens when the Grass Release System assigns her as the Senju Clan's revival guide. She enters Senju Jueming's body, communicates with him telepathically, and immediately recognizes the clan's material and spiritual decline. 1 2

Personality

Mito is principled, strict, and deeply protective of the Senju Clan. Raised as an Uzumaki princess, she cannot tolerate even minor theft; when Jueming takes coins and lollipops from Senju Takeshi, she immobilizes him with a seal to correct his behavior. 3

She is initially appalled by Jueming's shameless tactics, bizarre fighting style, and willingness to accept infamy for the clan's revival. Over time, however, she comes to appreciate his resolve and grows more at ease when she sees traits in him reminiscent of Tobirama rather than Madara. 14 38 61

Mito remains alarmed by Jueming's escalating ruthlessness.
