Background

Itachi first became acquainted with Shimiya Aoba—later commonly called Qingyu—over three-color dango. Their friendship quickly drew unwanted attention from Uchiha clan members, who considered Aoba an unsuitable civilian companion for the clan head's son. 20 23

At age five, Itachi was confined to the Uchiha compound after Uchiha Han attacked Aoba. Fugaku assigned Uchiha Shisui, already a three-tomoe Sharingan prodigy, as Itachi's tutor.
