Background / History
Kagami was born with the soul and memories of an adult from another life. He became determined to prevent the Uchiha Clan’s future annihilation after recognizing that the conflict between the clan and Konoha stemmed from unresolved problems dating back to the village’s founding. 2
Raised by his grandmother, Kagami grew up alongside Shisui, his sworn younger brother. Shisui’s parents died after his birth, leaving the two boys and their grandmother as a household. 1 5 Kagami formed a strong attachment to ordinary Uchiha clan members, seeing them as family rather than disposable pieces in a political conflict. 5
At the Ninja Academy, Kagami rapidly established himself as an exceptional prodigy. He defeated Asuma Sarutobi, overwhelmed Kakashi Hatake after awakening his Sharingan, and developed a reputation for arrogance and open contempt toward those outside the clan. 2 4 Despite his hostile demeanor toward outsiders, he accepted training and weapons from Uchiha elder Shenhuo while refusing to become a tool of the clan’s radical faction. 5 6
During the Third Shinobi World War, Kagami fought alongside Minato Namikaze and other Konoha forces. His victories over enemy shinobi and jinchūriki spread his fame throughout the village, while his ability to suppress Tailed Beasts intensified fear of another Uchiha Madara emerging. 20 31 38
Kagami ultimately led the Uchiha in seizing Konoha, declaring that the clan would no longer submit to the village’s old political order. He defeated Fugaku, took his Mangekyō eyes, destroyed Konoha’s defenses, and helped bring down Orochimaru’s regime. 61 70 74 77
Following the conflict, Kagami became the Uchiha Clan Head and established a Dual King System with Minato as Hokage and himself as Leaf Shadow. He later reshaped the Land of Fire’s government, replaced the Daimyō, reformed ninja administration, and positioned the Uchiha as Konoha’s ruling force. 82 86 110
Appearance
Kagami is described as a clean-cut and handsome Uchiha whose appearance resembles a young Uchiha Izuna. 24 In public during peacetime, he dresses casually and wears a small ponytail, allowing him to pass as an ordinary Konoha resident despite his status. 110
- Dark blue clothing bearing the Uchiha clan crest during the assault on Konoha. 74
- Scarlet Sharingan that develops through multiple tomoe patterns. 70 192
- Frequently carries two swords at his waist: Sode no Shirayuki and Meizun. 74
- His right eye is sometimes covered by a gray-black seal-like layer, which he uses similarly to an eyepatch. 102
Personality
Kagami is calculating, proud, and fiercely clan-focused. He believes the Uchiha should never need the title of Hokage to validate their worth, and he rejects both Konoha’s attempts to control the clan and the Uchiha elders’ attempts to control him. 5
He is capable of extreme ruthlessness. Kagami kills political opponents, threatens rival clans, and treats the destruction of the existing order as necessary to secure the Uchiha’s future. 71 76 82 He places little value on abstract ideals of peace when they conflict with his own plans or the clan’s security. 77 89
Despite this, Kagami is affectionate toward people he considers family or comrades. He cares for his grandmother, trains Shisui, mentors Sasuke, protects younger Uchiha, and can be unexpectedly playful with children such as Izumi. 17 39 88 113 He considers companions important, but deliberately avoids creating personal attachments that could become weaknesses before external threats have been eliminated. 119 134
