Background / History

Di Jun ruled the Demon Race from the Heavenly Court alongside his brother, Eastern Emperor Tai Yi. Born from the Sun Star, he possessed the prestige of the Heavenly Emperor and sought to extend the Heavenly Court's dominion across the Primordial Era. His accompanying treasure, the River Diagram and Luo Book, was central to both his personal power and the Demon Race's military strength. 33 108

Before the Witch-Demon War reached its climax, Di Jun targeted Dong Wang Gong, whose ancient Heavenly Court had siphoned away the fortune of Di Jun's own court. He led the Demon Race to Penglai Island and personally fought Dong Wang Gong, while Tai Yi's intervention and the Great Formation of the Stars ultimately secured the Demon Race's victory. 27 33 36

Di Jun repeatedly clashed with Jiang Chen. He initially restrained the Heavenly Court rather than openly opposing Tongtian, recognizing the Demon Race's weakness before a Saint. 42 After Jiang Chen's actions harmed Di Jun's sons, however, Di Jun led billions of demon soldiers into the Primordial Era and fought Jiang Chen for a hundred years. Despite holding peak Quasi-Saint cultivation, he was wounded and later forced to retreat alongside Tai Yi after Jiang Chen broke through. 107 108 109 110 112

Seeking to reverse his losses, Di Jun deployed the Great Formation of the Stars against the Witch Race. He intended to use the formation's control over the Primordial Era's destiny to achieve sainthood after crushing the Witches. 112 The plan was undermined by Jiang Chen's intervention, the Witch Race's formations, and Kunpeng's theft of the River Diagram and Luo Book. 116 121 123

During the final battle at Mount Buzhou, Di Jun and Tai Yi failed to escape the pursuing Ancestral Witches. Ju Mang restrained Di Jun by burning his own essence blood and detonating the Law of Wood; the resulting Innate Dao Fire destroyed Di Jun's Dao Foundation and killed him. 133

Appearance

Di Jun ordinarily appears in human form as the Heavenly Emperor, but his true form is a colossal Three-legged Golden Crow. His transformed body radiates blazing golden light and True Sun Fire like a miniature sun. 50 108 109

He is also a calculating commander. When direct conflict with Jiang Chen became unfavorable, he withdrew to attack the Witch Race instead, intending to use the resulting fortune and momentum to pursue sainthood. 112 He could restrain himself when necessary, such as preventing Tai Yi from attacking Tongtian despite their anger. 42

Di Jun cared strongly for those he considered his own. He grieved over the deaths of Demon Sages Fei Dan and Bai Ze, and his fury over Jiang Chen's killing of nine of his sons drove him to mobilize the Demon Race for war. 107 122

Battle for Primordial Violet Qi

Di Jun sought Hongyun's Primordial Violet Qi in hopes of becoming a Saint. He and Tai Yi held off the gathered great powers while Kunpeng pursued Hongyun, but Jiang Chen ultimately obtained the opportunity Di Jun desired. 64 66 72 99

Witch-Demon War

After retreating from Jiang Chen, Di Jun turned the Great Formation of the Stars against the Witch Race. Death at Mount Buzhou

During the final collapse of the Witch-Demon War, Di Jun and Tai Yi attempted to flee Mount Buzhou. Ju Mang, Qiang Liang, and Xuan Ming intercepted them; Ju Mang's self-sacrificial Law of Wood attack killed Di Jun. 133
