Background
The Witch Clan was created through the Twelve Ancestral Witches' recruitment of souls from different times, dimensions, and worlds. These souls cross the River of Time and are reborn in Witch bodies, producing a vast force intended to fight an epoch-spanning war against the Demon Clan. Feng Xi's batch alone contains trillions upon trillions of Lesser Witches, and further recruitment waves were planned. 2
Its members inherit diluted Pangu blood and receive cultivation knowledge, divine abilities, weapons, and scriptures directly connected to the Twelve Ancestral Witches' Daos. The Ancestral Witches' investment includes a cultivation path reaching Grand Unity, resource-exchange channels, and high welfare for capable members. 23 84 96
The Clan's relationship with the wider Human Race is both foundational and contentious. It regards itself as humanity's fighting force and guardian across time and space, yet historical Human Kings have also used, restrained, or defeated Ancestral Witches in struggles over Human orthodoxy. 4 320
Identity and Doctrine
Ancestral Witch Houtu defines the Human Race by ideals rather than bloodline, body, soul, or cultivation path. Under this definition, beings who strive for self-improvement and uphold virtue are human, while those who accept the strong preying on the weak as their Dao Heart are demonic. 5
The Clan presents its campaigns as the protection and uplift of other peoples rather than conquest. Its public message emphasizes equality among beings, ending cruel exploitation, and guiding weaker clans toward a “bright future.” 132 165
This idealism is also a military asset. The Demon Emperor considers the Clan's conviction, willingness to sacrifice, and cohesion more dangerous than its natural combat strength; even under equal material conditions, he judges its spiritual resolve decisive. 158
Organization
| Rank / Position | Documented role |
|---|---|
| Lesser Witch | The Clan's basic unit; equivalent to a True Immortal. Lesser Witches possess transmitted cultivation knowledge and access to a structured advancement system. 2 51 |
| Golden Immortal | A battlefield-qualified cultivation level; all warriors in Dijiang and Houtu's diplomatic delegation were at least Golden Immortals. 21 |
| Great Witch | Elite members and commanders. Some apparent Great Witches are powerful outside cultivators or alternate identities operating within the Clan. 96 297 |
| Ancestral Witch | The twelve supreme leaders, identified as Great Luo-level beings. Each governs a fundamental Dao, and their combined authority encompasses the primordial powers underlying the world. 2 9 |
The Clan uses contribution points to distribute resources rather than granting them freely. Exceptional members can receive direct rewards, including resources sufficient to reach Golden Immortal, while ordinary advancement is earned through work, competition, and merit. 8
Its leadership tolerates alternate identities and covert affiliations so long as members produce tangible benefits and do not betray the Clan's interests. This policy is intended to attract ambitious Great Divine Ability Users and make the Human Race a competitive platform for contenders seeking the Human King position. 11 66
Capabilities and Institutions
Pangu Bloodline and Cultivation
The Witch Clan's physical foundation comes from Pangu's bloodline, giving its members exceptional talent, potential, and affinity with the Primordial World's laws. A foundation value above 0.6 is stated to guarantee a Grand Unity breakthrough for Witch Clan cultivators. 23 68
- Members have access to the twelve Ancestral Witch scriptures, each of which points directly toward Grand Unity. 84
- Lesser Witches may cultivate a Dao by worshipping and relying upon its primordial origin under the relevant Ancestral Witch, then refining its yin-yang aspects toward completion. 98
- The Clan possesses 360,000 documented divine abilities and spells; even basic members can learn techniques such as Plucking Stars and Grasping Moons. 2
- Zhu Jiuyin's Time Secret Realm can accelerate cultivation dramatically, though entry requires resources. 6 49
- The Ancestral Witches can perform bodily modifications to grant immense combat power, but such methods do not replace the Clan's broader standards for knowledge and capability. 6
Army and Warfare
The Witch Clan trains each member as more than a fighter. In its all-heavens conflict with the Demon Clan, soldiers are expected to understand governance, strategic planning, counter-schemes, and military command. 6 8
- Enemy corpses, Dao fruits, and primordial spirits can be refined into resources that strengthen Witch soldiers after battle. 22
- The Clan's curse arts draw upon its Pangu lineage and can harm enemies across immeasurable distance; even Grand Unity experts treat advanced curses cautiously. 24
- Its elite formations include the Four Symbols Battle Array, activated by Great Witch Yi to annihilate invading monsters. 22
- The Twelve Ancestral Witches can combine their powers into a Pangu true form; although the manifestation can disperse, their underlying connection remains available for reassembly. 180
- The Great Array of All Heavens Fiend Gods is described as the Clan's strongest strategic weapon. 417
- The Clan prepared Immortal Boat fleets, armed warships, defensive artillery, anti-air positions, anti-missile defenses, and starfall countermeasures for total war against the Demon Clan. 287 288
Diplomacy, Propaganda, and Influence
The Clan combines military pressure with diplomacy, trade, education, propaganda, and covert political work. Dijiang and Houtu personally led delegations to establish relations with Great Divine Ability Users and outside factions. 19 21
- It formally established diplomatic relations with the Phoenix Perch lineage, including embassies and in-depth exchanges. 61
- In Kunlun, its agents built influence by funding construction, controlling supply chains, cultivating pro-Witch middle and upper ranks, and spreading the Reincarnation Divine Cult. 169
- The Clan seeks to expand by “saving” weaker groups, then building practical networks of influence among them; the Bamboo Rat tribe was selected for its burrowing, communication, and reproductive advantages. 135
- Its propaganda efforts can include fabricated interviews, sensational newspapers, public campaigns, and deliberately managed rumors. 143 444
- The long-term strategy is to use local conditions and pro-Witch forces to divide the Demon Clan's base of support rather than rely solely on direct battlefield victory. 169
Material Wealth
The Ancestral Witches inherited vast resources associated with Pangu and use them to fund high salaries, cultivation resources, luck and merit distributions, infrastructure, and military production. These benefits attract outside Great Divine Ability Users to establish or promote alternate identities within the Clan. 96
The Clan's financial reserves are a core strategic advantage: secret funding supported the construction of powerful Immortal Ship fleets and defensive weapons capable of contesting the Demon Clan's stellar offensive. 287
Relationships
- Human Race — The Witch Clan identifies itself as humanity's elite military force and guardian across time and space, though its claim to leadership later clashes with an increasingly independent Human Race. 2 320 814
- Twelve Ancestral Witches — Founders and highest leadership. Their twelve Daos, resources, and political connections form the basis of the Clan's strength. 2 9 640
- Houtu — Central recruiter, ideologue, and strategist. Her Reincarnation-centered plans are considered the strategic core of the Witch Clan by its enemies. 2 82 163
- Dijiang — Diplomat, military organizer, and prominent Clan leader. He later becomes interim leader after the temporary suspension of Houtu's authority. 19 61 524
- Demon Clan / Yao Race — Principal rivals in the Witch-Demon conflict. Their leaders regard the Clan's talent, numbers, ideology, and military cohesion as major threats. 29 158 182
- Dragon Clan — A strategically important but unstable partner. The two sides share historical and personal ties, while the Dragon Clan repeatedly hedges between larger powers. 182 604 630
- Three Pure Ones — Mutual-benefit partners: the Witch Clan supports their educational ambitions, while their promotion of Pangu indirectly supports Witch Clan ideology. 280
- Heavenly Court — A major opposing institution that fields Demon Marshals and Great Sages specifically prepared to intercept Ancestral Witches and suppress the Clan's forces. 403 415
Story Role / Major Arcs
Founding and Recruitment
The Clan begins as an unprecedented mass-recruitment project: future Human Race souls are reincarnated into Pangu-blooded Witch bodies to form an army against the Demon Clan. Its first known batch alone numbers trillions upon trillions. 2
Diplomatic Expansion
After stabilizing its internal development, the Clan dispatches major delegations under Dijiang and Houtu to build alliances. It later establishes formal relations with Phoenix Perch Mountain and expands its diplomatic, commercial, and ideological presence across the Primordial World. 19 21 61
Kunlun Influence Campaign
Feng Xi, Hou Gang, and their associates use publicity, economic investment, trade, construction projects, and alliances with local clans to turn Kunlun into a test site for broader Witch Clan expansion. 132 135 169
Witch-Demon Total War
As the Demon Clan prepares stellar bombardment, mobile fortresses, and mass ground offensives, the Witch Clan answers with fleets, artillery, arrays, defensive infrastructure, and continent-scale logistics. 287 288 623
Decline and Conflict over Human Orthodoxy
After Pangu's essence blood is lost and Nuwa can no longer replicate it, the Clan's recruitment model becomes increasingly difficult to sustain. As Witch forces and Yao elites deplete one another, the Human Race is expected to assume the main military role; later, humanity's independent doctrine places it on a possible collision course with the Witch Clan. 711 725 814
Lament of the Ancestral Witches
The Five Heavenly Emperors launch an overwhelming assault on the Ancestral Witches. Great Witches sacrifice themselves to delay the enemy, protect Houtu, and await Nuwa's return as Buzhou Divine Mountain begins to collapse. 870

Trivia
- The Clan publicly claims not to follow Hongjun's Three Corpse-severing method, though it secretly maintains comparable advancement requirements. 98
