Background

Fuxi participated in the Dragon-Phoenix Tribulation, where he and Nuwa took sides in a world-shaking contest among the major powers. Later accounts identify Fuxi, Jieyin, and Bai Ze as the Phoenix faction’s “three Black Suns,” whose schemes helped them emerge as victors from that era. 15 502

According to Fuxi’s own account, he pioneered the Great Dao of Luck, gathered the support of the Human Dao and fellow Innate Divine Beings, and ultimately attained Pangu’s achievement as Tai Hao. A historical record attributes the first Heavenly Court and a period of benevolent governance to him as the Primordial Era’s first Sage Emperor. 204 227

His rule ended after his opposition to Reincarnation alienated the Human Dao. Though he retained his Pangu realm, he stepped down and lost much of his former influence. Fuxi subsequently participated in editing the history of the First Era, claiming that he wished to prevent blind worship of himself and protect his former companions’ reputations. 228 229

In the later era, Fuxi remains an exceptionally influential power behind the Heavenly Court, the Human Dao, and the Yao Race.
