Background

Feng Nanzhi was once a “dirty little kitten” taken in by Bai Yan Yan in the Peach Blossom Forest. She later became the Tiger Clan’s Empress and inherited the White Tiger bloodline, making her the fifth known White Tiger bearer of the clan and its only female one 531 578.

Her White Tiger bloodline was incomplete: its Geng Xin Metal nature conflicted with her feminine constitution, leaving much of her body severely damaged. Nearly half of her meridians and internal organs were scorched and shriveled, pain she endured without showing weakness in public 547 578. Determined to resolve this flaw, she sought information on Bai Ze and pursued the Kirin Tomb’s bloodline opportunity 531 606 608.

Feng Nanzhi is a tall, striking woman whose bearing combines beauty with an intimidating imperial majesty. In her disguised Feng Ling identity, she appears younger, with roughly five or six parts resemblance to her true appearance 547 552.

Though she publicly maintains an aloof and commanding demeanor, she is capable of personal empathy. She protects promising clan members, arguing that personal affection should still exist beneath the Tiger Clan’s greater interests 663. As Tiger Clan Empress, Feng Nanzhi refuses Feng Liancheng’s request to represent Mount Wei Hu in Southern Wilderness affairs. She recognizes that allowing him to borrow the Tiger Clan’s reputation would eventually create a claim on its authority 508.

Feng Ling and the New Sun Incident

Feng Nanzhi leaves Mount Wei Hu under a secret identity, Feng Ling, to target Kong Salman. During the confrontation, Chen Luo assists her with the dangerous Sun Essence produced by his New Sun ability. Their forced cooperation shifts her attitude toward him from hostility to guarded trust 552 555.

Kirin Tomb

Feng Nanzhi enters the Kirin Tomb seeking a means to resolve her incomplete White Tiger bloodline. She saves Chen Luo from the Green Lion Great Sage, but he identifies her as Feng Ling and learns her secret 606.

Inside the tomb, her unstable bloodline nearly kills her. Chen Luo uses Bai Ze’s Monster Divination to stabilize her, but the Kirin bloodline’s influence overwhelms her instincts and leads to an intimate encounter between them 610 611. Pregnancy and Tiger Clan Politics

Feng Nanzhi discovers that she is carrying Chen Luo’s child and conceals the pregnancy with a Tiger Clan seal. She reveals the truth to Chen Luo only as a matter of responsibility, then negotiates an arrangement concerning the Tiger Clan’s Heavenly Dao bloodline 714 759.

While pregnant, she resists Feng Bugui’s calls for marriage, challenges to her authority, and attempts to direct the Tiger Clan toward war. She instead opens Journey to the West to the clan and seeks strength through Heavenly Dao bloodlines 797 820.

Imprisonment and Motherhood

Feng Nanzhi gives birth to Little Ao Wu in human form, choosing to do so for both the child’s and Chen Luo’s dignity 875. Feng Bugui discovers the child, attacks Feng Feifei, and seals Feng Nanzhi and Little Ao Wu inside an Ancestor Star after Feng Nanzhi threatens to destroy her White Tiger bloodline source rather than surrender her daughter 875.

Even while imprisoned, Feng Nanzhi refuses to flee the Tiger Clan, believing that abandoning Mount Wei Hu would mean severing herself from the clan she rules 877. She instead prepares to reclaim her authority and advance to the Ancestor Demon realm.
