Background

Sunny was once enslaved at Mad Hatter Town's Pig Farm. Her mother inflicted the knife scar that marked Sunny's face, and Sunny was eventually rescued by the Revolutionary Army. These experiences shaped her lifelong hatred of slave trading and her determination to free slaves. 12 95 138

She later lived and worked with Saul in his weapon shop. Aware that Saul would not live forever, Sunny prepared intelligence files on dangerous people, pirate bounties, and even her neighbors so she could survive independently when he was gone. 15 23

When Maud arrived at the shop, Sunny initially confronted him at gunpoint and returned his stolen pocket watch as her “spoils of war.” Despite their uneasy beginning, she accepted him as a prospective colleague and became one of his closest companions. 2
