Background / History
Nuwa created the Human Race after observing the endless slaughter of the Primordial World. Using Nine Heavens Breathing Soil and Three Lights Divine Water, she formed humans with Dao Bodies, intelligence, spirituality, and an inclination toward peace and creation. She declared the new race to the Great Dao, creating 129,600 humans in total. 38
The creation of humanity enabled the Human Dao to re-condense and awaken. Nuwa settled the race along the East Sea, issuing a Sage decree that no being could harm humanity for one hundred thousand years. Fuxi was left to guide the newly born people, while the Human Teachings was established to prevent their destiny from falling under Lao Tzu's control. 40 41 42
Under Fuxi's guidance, the Human Race expanded from its ancestral land into dozens of tribes with a population exceeding ten million. Qingxuan introduced the Totem Visualization Method, through which human tribes built altars, worshipped Witch Race totems, and borrowed limited Witch power in exchange for faith. This made the Human and Witch destinies increasingly intertwined. 55
The Demon Race viewed this alliance as a threat. After covertly sabotaging human altars, Di Jun and Tai Yi began systematic raids on isolated tribes at Lao Tzu's urging. Human blood, flesh, and resentful souls were harvested to forge the Witch-Slaying Sword, turning humanity into a target of the Witch-Demon conflict. 55 70 71
The massacres became the Human Race's defining calamity. Survivors were gathered and protected by the Witch Race, Zhenyuanzi, Xihe, Chang Xi, the Queen Mother of the West, and the Phoenix Race. Fuxi then led humanity in an oath that humans and demons could never coexist; the shared vow strengthened the Human Dao and transformed collective grief into resistance. 71 72
Qingxuan seized and purified the Witch-Slaying Sword, freeing the human souls bound within it and renaming it the Human Emperor Sword. After becoming the Human Dao Guardian, he punished the demons responsible for the slaughter and created the Human Emperor Banner from purified demon soul power. Both treasures were entrusted to Fuxi, marking humanity's movement toward self-governance. 72 77 78
Following the Witch-Demon conflict, the Human Race recovered, multiplied, and spread across the Primordial World. The Heavenly Dao later proclaimed it the race destined to rule the Great Desolation, with the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors tasked with guiding its rise. 96 124
Traits and Practices
Dao Bodies and Spiritual Potential
Humans are born with Dao Bodies and spiritual intelligence, but are individually weaker than many innate beings of the Primordial World. Their lower spiritual-energy consumption, rapid reproduction, adaptability, and capacity for learning support their eventual role as the world's protagonists. 38 54 96
- Possess strong cooperative and survival instincts. 67
- Learn and spread practical knowledge quickly between tribes. 96 133
- Develop rapidly through hardship rather than relying solely on external protection. 71 128
Totem Visualization Method
The Totem Visualization Method allows human tribes to connect with powerful Witch Race members through consecrated altars. Worshippers borrow traces of a totem's strength, while the linked Witch receives faith power that aids cultivation and comprehension. 55
- Altars incorporate spirit-gathering and spirit-connecting functions. 55
- Human practitioners may gain physical strength or perceive aspects of a linked Witch's element. 55
- The method requires a totem imprint containing a Witch's essence blood and will. 55
- It made human tribes targets of Demon Race sabotage. 55
Human Dao and Collective Destiny
The Human Dao is awakened through humanity's creation and grows alongside the race's unity, civilization, and self-determination. Human Race Destiny is represented by a Golden Dragon and is tied to the Kongtong Seal. 40 41
- The race's oath against the Demon Race strengthened its destiny and established a collective will of unceasing self-improvement. 72
- The Human Dao can empower its protectors, including Qingxuan as Human Dao Guardian. 77 78
- The Three Sovereigns' achievements elevate the race's destiny through civilization, agriculture, medicine, unification, and governance. 155 170 176 177
