Dumbledore somewhat regretted letting the man in the blue suit go.

The headmaster wanted to talk to Charles about the man, only to discover that he had disappeared.

The four Heads of House immediately returned to their respective Houses to ask around, and discovered that the last time anyone had seen him, he had been cleaning the castle with Filch.

Fred and George exchanged a glance, then quietly returned to their dormitory and opened the Marauder's Map, but found nothing.

Dumbledore glanced back at the suit of armor across the corridor, then said to Harry and the others, "Take this suit of armor apart. Each of you take one piece. Don't let it move."

Professor McGonagall stood beside him with a head full of question marks.

Dumbledore said to her with a solemn expression, "Trust me."

He didn't tell Professor McGonagall that the armor had kicked him into the Chamber. It was far too embarrassing.

The reason Harry and the others had been allowed to come along was that Dumbledore wanted them to keep an eye on the strange suit of armor, so as to prevent a tragedy from happening again.
