Gifts Were Ready

The employees at Flourish and Blotts had work to do again. They tied several loops of rope around The Invisible Book of Invisibility so they could tell where the book was.

Charles found the book he wanted, then began choosing Christmas gifts for everyone else.

Charles picked Practical Household Magic for Seamus. It contained simple, frequently useful spells, making it suitable for practicing control over his magical output in daily life.

Starting this winter, Mrs. Finnigan embarked on the path to becoming a master of the Repair Charm.

Charles also asked the manager to recommend an Illustrated Herbal of Western Europe. It weighed several kilograms. Then he noticed that Collection of Self-Defense Spells was quite good too, so he bought one of each for himself and another set for Neville.

Next came the Weasley twins. He spotted Twelve Winning Tricks to Charm Witches and thought they were old enough for it, so he took it down. Bag of Tricks for Dealing with Mischief, a book of magical pranks, looked pretty good too. He decided on those two.

Not long afterward, he saw How Prefects Gain Power. It would make a fine gift for Percy. That fellow was quite considerate toward the younger students.

While passing a bookshelf, Charles casually picked up Common Spells and Counter-Curses to give Ron.

As for Harry and Hermione's gifts, he had already printed them at a print shop in London City while he was there. They filled an entire sheet of A4 paper.

After choosing gifts for some classmates and professors he knew fairly well, Charles began to get a headache. He could not think of what to give Eleanor. She might have already bought any book he gave her, while he had no idea what style of things other girls liked.
