Background / History

Pangu was a supreme Chaos Demon God who stood at the threshold of the Half-Step Great Dao. Wielding an immense axe and surrounded by the Laws of the Three Thousand Great Daos, he split open Chaos: clear qi rose to form heaven, while turbid qi sank to form earth. His intended Heavenly Dao was to be impartial, allowing all beings to live freely and equally. 13

The creation of the world was undermined by a corrupt black aura emerging through a rift at the edge of the new world. It polluted and controlled the Three Thousand Chaos Demon Gods, compelling them to attack Pangu. Pangu killed them during the Creation Tribulation, which was later revealed to have been a forced purge rather than a struggle for the Great Dao. 13 135

After the Creation Jade Disc shattered in Pangu's clash with Hongjun, the newborn Heavenly Dao was contaminated by the black aura. Hongjun then betrayed Pangu by striking his unguarded True Spirit. Greatly weakened after transforming his body into all things, Pangu fought the corrupted Heavenly Dao with his remaining will. 13

Pangu's remains became foundational parts of the Primordial World. Pangu Hall was transformed from his head, while Buzhou Mountain was formed from his spine. His heart remained within Pangu Hall as the Heart of Pangu, the source of the Twelve Ancestral Magi and the Witch Clan's foundation. 1 4 9

A remnant of Pangu endured within Buzhou Mountain, pinned down by the God Slaying Spear. After Su Ming removed the spear, Pangu revealed the corruption of the Heavenly Dao, Hongjun's betrayal, and the flawed origins of the Three Pure Ones. Before fading, he gave Su Ming his final true-spirit imprint and the remaining spinal essence of Buzhou Mountain. 12 14

Pangu also prepared a hidden Land of Reincarnation beneath the Eighteen Levels of Hell. Using the remains and origins of the slain Chaos Demon Gods, he created a path for Houtu to establish the Six Paths of Reincarnation without sacrificing herself. 134 135 136

At his peak, Pangu appeared as a colossal giant capable of supporting heaven and earth. He wielded an ancient giant axe and was surrounded by the laws of the Three Thousand Great Daos. 13
