Background / History

Nuwa is the creator of the Human Race and the mistress of Wa Huang Palace. Her merit and destiny are tied to both the Human Race and the Yao Race, making her one of the most influential Sages in the Primordial World. 1 376

At Buzhou Mountain, Nuwa followed Heavenly Secrets and Su Yang’s guidance to create humanity. She shaped 36,000 mud figures, infused them with blood and spiritual energy, and named the new race “Human.” The resulting heavenly merit elevated her to the Great Enlightenment Golden Immortal realm and then to the Hunyuan Sage position. 756 757

Following the rise of the Yao Race, Di Jun granted Nuwa the title Empress Wa. She served as an ally of the Heavenly Court, arranged Xi He and Changxi’s marriages to Di Jun and Tai Yi, and later promised to preserve a line of Yao Race inheritance as its fortune declined. 677 708 765

Nuwa helped restore the world after the heavens were torn. Working with Sect Master Tongtian and the other powers, she stabilized the heavens; she then used the Qiankun Cauldron to refine Five-Colored Stone and mend the sky. 819

After the Battle of the Gods, Dao Ancestor Hongjun forbade Sages from descending to the mortal realm without authorization. Nuwa nevertheless secretly entered Qingshan City with Caiyun Boy, initially out of curiosity about the storyteller Su Yang and the tales that had captivated her attendant. 1

Her interest in Su Yang became increasingly personal. She repeatedly attended his storytelling sessions, protected him against Sage-level pressure, and eventually chose to stay at his inn to learn his true origins. 4 113 170

After learning of the Mythical Primordial World, Nuwa chose to sever her old path and re-cultivate through the Sacrificing Dao Method with Su Yang’s assistance. Her extraordinary talent allowed her to enter the Mythical Human-Immortal realm and rapidly surpass the conventional limits of the Six Sages. 453 454 462 529

Appearance

  • Considered the foremost beauty of the Three Realms, a reputation even the audience regards as obvious. 28

Personality

Nuwa is composed, proud, and difficult to provoke into visible disorder. She ignores mortal arrogance without dignifying it with a response, yet she can become cold and overwhelming when Su Yang, the Human Race, or the Yao Race is threatened. 14 170 555

She possesses a deep curiosity beneath her reserved exterior. Although she initially dismissed storytelling as less magnificent than her own experiences, Su Yang’s knowledge and ability to conceal his origins drew her back repeatedly. 1 4

Her strongest defining trait is responsibility. Nuwa chose her people over the prospect of Sagehood when tested by Su Yang, created the Human Race, grieved over its destined suffering, and repeatedly sought ways to preserve the declining Yao Race. 755 756 758 824
