Arc 13Gawain’s East Blue Voyage

Gawain freed Cocoyasi Village from Arlong, welcomed Nami and Nojiko aboard, and gathered Zeff and Sanji’s Baratie crew after a battle with Garp. The arc ended with Gawain defeating Garp in a public challenge as Shanks and Doflamingo reacted to the news.

  • Gawain arrived in Loguetown, ordered Smoker aboard his ship, bought Yubashiri and other weapons, and declared that he would shape the sea’s future.
  • Gawain met Nojiko and Nami in Cocoyasi Village, promised to free them from Arlong, and appointed Nami navigator and Nojiko gardener.

Arc 14The Thirteen Flag Guard Divisions

After recovering in Syrup Village, Gawain recruited Usopp and Zoro, exposed Kuro, and organized his officers into divisions as he prepared for future battles. The crew reached Foosha Village, where Stelly threatened the villagers ahead of a Celestial Dragon’s arrival and Luffy struggled to understand their response.

  • Whitebeard declared Teach his son and ordered the fleet to search for the Yami Yami no Mi, promising Teach his power after his death.
  • Gawain awoke after twenty-nine days in a coma, learned that his Monarch system required him to unify the pirate world, and revoked Garp’s bounty while arranging to restore his reputation.
  • Usopp rejected his father Yasopp and joined Gawain’s crew to surpass him, while Gawain exposed Kuro and ordered his execution for plotting against Kaya’s family.

Arc 15Foosha Village and New Alliances

Gawain returned to Foosha Village, reunited Luffy with Sabo, and punished the nobles who had displaced its residents. After Zephyr spared Doflamingo, Gawain brought Doflamingo aboard and began taking control of his operations, while inviting the villagers to make the Dark Bird Ship their home.

  • Gawain reached Foosha Village with Sabo, Ace, Uta, and Zoro, found the village destroyed by nobles, and brought the brothers together with Luffy.
  • Gawain’s crew detained King James Anis and the nobles, then sentenced them to kneel for five days and demoted surviving nobles while punishing Stelly separately.
  • Zephyr fought Doflamingo but chose to spare him, and Gawain reassured Zephyr that he had made the right choice by standing with the crew.

In Mary Geoise, he prepared for the Reverie and learned that the Elder of Law had once been saved by Roger’s crew and quietly protected some of Roger’s companions.

  • Gawain completed Zephyr’s instinct training and took Foosha Village aboard the Dark Bird Ship, while Sabo rejected his father’s class ambitions and Garp mourned his lost home.
  • Shiki attacked Loguetown, but Gawain and Kizaru defeated him, saved the falling islands and civilians, and later helped the survivors recover and rebuild.
  • Gawain left Loguetown for Dressrosa, learned that Hancock was seriously ill, and began planning a television network using Visual Den Den Mushi to spread information and Uta’s performances.
