Unwilling to Admit Defeat
"Where is Albert?"
"They were just behind me, how did they suddenly disappear?"
Fred, George, and Lee Jordan were all confused. The four of them were just about to go to Divination class when Albert mysteriously "disappeared."
"Could it be that she's too tired to walk?"
"Do you believe he might suddenly appear and beat you up?" Fred rolled his eyes at Lee Jordan beside him.
"Speaking of which, don't you guys think that Clone Charm is strange? I've never heard of such a bizarre spell before," Lee Jordan said, expressing his doubts. "I've checked many books and even asked Professor Flitwick, but I haven't found any so-called Clone Charm."
"Don't be silly, that Clone Charm was just something Albert made up to fool us. Do you think I don't know that?" Fred curled his lip, doubting whether his roommate had actually used his brain.
"You've known him for so long, don't you understand him? There must be some secret he's hiding from us." George's thoughts were similar to Fred's. "I dare say Percy knows the reason too, but he obviously won't tell us. If you could take all 12 courses, you'd probably know how they managed to not miss a single one."
Yes, the three of them had already asked other students in their graduating class at other colleges, and Albert and Katrina had never missed a single class.
However, no one knows exactly how they did it, and can only assume that Albert possessed the so-called Clone Charm.
In fact, even if the three of them were curious and wanted to ask, Albert wouldn't tell them.
When necessary, Albert can be incredibly tight-lipped.
What are you talking about?
Albert's voice suddenly rang out, and his figure appeared silently behind the three of them.
"Where did you go just now?" Fred couldn't help but ask.
"Don't ask, it's a secret." Albert simply indicated that he didn't want to answer. "Alright, let's go."
"What about your Muggle Studies?" Fred asked tentatively.
"Of course, we should send the clone to class."
On the other side, Albert, who had just come out of the toilet, followed the crowd toward the Muggle Studies classroom.
Halfway there, they encountered Katrina, who was alone, in the corridor.
Albert stopped and waited for the other person to come over before asking, "How's the Muggle Studies going?"
"I'm not used to it. There are so many things I don't understand. What are batteries and plugs in the book? What are stamps? Why do we need stamps to send letters?" Katrina glanced at Albert and kept rambling on. She had indeed studied the book "Britain Muggle Life and Social Habits" carefully.
However, without experiencing the lives of ordinary people, some common sense concepts may seem incomprehensible.
The two entered the classroom together, with Katrina glaring at Albert was smiling at her seat, with a hint of displeasure.
What are you laughing at?
"It's nothing, this is probably what they call a generation gap. To be honest, there are some things about the Wizarding World that I don't know either," Albert shook his head and said. "If you really want to understand Muggle World Muggle World, you'd better spend a few months or even a few years there, and you'll naturally understand, instead of taking classes here."
"I don't have the time, and I don't want to go," Katrina asked. "Why did you choose Muggle Studies? You should already know a lot about Muggle."
"Many people say that choosing Muggle Studies is foolish, but I personally believe that wizards should know something about non-magical societies, otherwise you won't even be able to disguise yourselves properly," Albert said with a smile. "As for why I chose Muggle Studies, it's naturally because I want to see from what perspective wizards view Muggle. To be honest, this course is very interesting."
"Funny? You're probably laughing at us in your heart!" Katrina said dismissively.
"Don't many wizards also mock those Muggle -born students? They even came up with an insulting term for it, what was it again?" Albert said with a self-deprecating laugh. "Next time, I'll definitely suggest that Dumbledore find a Muggle- born wizard to be Assistant Teacher."
Professor Burbage Kerridi Boubagi, who is in charge of Muggle Studies, is a Pure-blood wizard.
Well, he's a wizard who's close to Muggle, like Ron's father. However, the downside is that he's actually studying Muggle too, and doesn't really understand the Muggle World, so he often makes some funny mistakes.
At least, Albert thought they were jokes.
"Albert, tell everyone why Muggle need electricity." The class started quickly, and as was one of Professor Burbage Kerridi Bubbaje's favorite things to do, he would call on Albert to answer questions during class.
Of course, you will get extra points for answering.
To this end, a task called "Points-Adding Maniac" appeared on the panel.
The task is roughly to help Gryffindor gain 1000 points during your time at the school. The reward is a level up in a designated skill, 20 points of favor with Professor McGonagall, and 200 points of Magical World Reputation.
The mission rewards are fantastic.
Albert estimated that he should be able to easily finish the course before graduation.
After all, with Lockhart next year, easily racking up a hundred or two points shouldn't be a problem.
"Electricity is a source of energy for Muggle, powering the various electrical appliances they create. And in Muggle life, countless appliances need electricity to function so that life can run smoothly and be better and more comfortable," Albert answered slowly.
In reality, many students can't understand how Muggle live without magic. They might ask, how do Muggle travel without Floo Powder? How do they deliver messages without Muggle?
All right!
Honestly, if he hadn't already understood the different ways of thinking between wizards and Muggle, he probably would have thought the classroom was full of idiots when he first came to Muggle Studies.
"So... Mr. Anderson, would you like to introduce some Muggle electrical appliances to everyone?" Professor Burbage Kerridi Bubbage continued to ask, while Albert was already sitting in the armchair that had been prepared for him.
This is a newly developed teaching method, a question-and-answer format. Everyone likes this teaching model, including Professor Burbage Kerridi Bubbaje, because he can learn a lot from Albert.
Yes, that's right. Albert's position is Assistant Teacher, an unpaid Assistant Teacher.
Of course, Professor Burbage Kerridi Boubagi exempted Albert from all his homework. He only needed to write a paper occasionally.
"What is the purpose of a light bulb? What is the significance of a plug? What does a television set do? And what is a telephone?"
After answering a few questions cooperatively, Albert asked in return, "Have you ever lived in the Muggle World without using magic?"
"Yes, I once spent a week in the Muggle World," Professor Burbage Kerridi Bubbage recalled. "It was a wonderful trip, and I even want to write a book about it to share with everyone."
At this moment, Albert recalled a saying from his past life: even today's masters of Chinese studies might not be as good as children born into aristocratic families in ancient times.
Can what you've learned and researched compare to a part of someone else's life? Professor Burbage Kerridi Bubagi clearly feels the same way.
What he believed was vastly different from what everyone in the classroom believed, and from reality.
"Many people regret not choosing Muggle Studies." After class, Katrina and Albert walked side by side down the hallway. "They want to see..."
"Everyone just finds it funny." Albert remained calm in the face of Katrina's teasing. "It's more interesting to talk to them about my own experience and knowledge."
"You know what? I've read a lot of books about France, traveled France twice, and even speak fluent French," he said self-deprecatingly. "But I never thought I knew that country."
"A big difference?"
Katrina understood what Albert meant. Because he had lived in the Muggle world, Albert knew better than anyone what those things were and found the things taught in class somewhat ridiculous.
Perhaps this course should be taught by a Muggle- born wizard, or a wizard who has lived in the Muggle World for many years.
While Professor Burbage Kerridi Bubbage was indeed as curious about the Muggle World as Mr. Weasley, that was about it.
Research is just research, after all! "I really envy you. The third-year curriculum is so easy for you," Katrina said, glancing furtively at Albert beside her. "Whether it's Divination, Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, or even Muggle Studies."
She even suspected that Albert's Care of Magical Creatures could be easily learned.
"Do you regret selecting all of them now?" Albert asked rhetorically.
"No!" Katrina shook her head defiantly; she wouldn't give up so easily.
"My advice is, whatever you want to do in the future, specialize in it, master those subjects, and you can discard the rest."
"It's hard to believe such words would come out of your mouth," Katrina said, pursing her lips. "Then why did you select all of them?"
For the Time-Turner!
Of course, Albert wouldn't tell anyone about this.
"Don't you think it looks good to have a bunch of O's on your report card?" Albert asked with a smile.
Katrina never doubted whether Albert could achieve Twelve Subjects excellent grades; he was simply too outstanding. If she could still see her sister Isobel's back, she could hardly see Albert's receding figure anymore.
She couldn't catch up! Even though she knew this, Katrina just didn't want to give up. She didn't like to admit defeat, and she didn't want to admit defeat.
