This Dragon Is Poisonous
"Hermione, will that really work?"
Harry and Hermione were still talking about what had just happened when they came out of the Medical Room.
If many people know that someone will be going to the Astronomy Tower on Saturday night to send off Little Dragon, many people will probably rush over to watch, and they will have to change their original appointment time.
"Harry, we have to take this risk. Don't forget, we have the Invisibility Cloak, which Malfoy and the others don't know." Hermione made sure no one was around before whispering a reminder: "We can also tell Filch about this. I don't think anyone else would dare come at this time unless they want to be caught and put in solitary confinement by Filch."
"You're right, it's too late to change the plan." Harry took a deep breath and nodded in agreement.
This is probably their only chance to get rid of Norbert.
He possesses Invisibility Cloak, which no one else knows.
That is their biggest advantage.
Soon, word spread throughout the school that Filch would be patrolling the Astronomy Tower on Saturday nights, and the administrator also said he would arrest and lock up any students who liked to get up at night and wander around.
With Filch's threat, the students who had originally planned to visit the Astronomy Tower on Saturday night all gave up the idea.
If Filch really catches me, I'll be in real trouble.
That morning, Harry and Hermione went to the Hunting Cabin to tell Hagrid what had happened. When they met Hagrid, they found the Hunting Grounds looking exhausted; the little dragon was clearly more difficult to deal with than they had imagined.
"You can't come in. Norbert is very difficult to deal with right now." After hearing Harry's words, Hagrid's eyes filled with tears. It was hard to tell whether he regretted raising the dragon or was saddened by the impending separation from Norbert.
"Hagrid, Fang looks injured." Hermione looked at the listless hound, trying to distract Hagrid.
"Did Fang bite Norbert's tail?"
"Hagrid, I have to warn you, Norbert's teeth are poisonous, and Ron has been hospitalized because of it." Harry looked anxiously at the listless Fang, thinking that Hagrid's Hound might have been poisoned.
"Don't worry, Fang will be fine," Hagrid said nonchalantly.
Harry and Hermione exchanged glances, both feeling that Hagrid had become somewhat abnormal because of the dragon.
Their concerns were valid.
When they came to visit Hagrid again, they found that the hound Fang was gone.
"Hagrid, where's Fang?"
Harry circled the Hunting Cabin, but couldn't find Fang, so he frowned and called out into the lodge.
"Fang's been poisoned. I've asked Kettleburn to look after him for a few days," Hagrid explained casually. In the past, Hagrid would never have acted this way, but now all his attention was on the dragon, and he didn't even care about his hounds, which he'd raised for years.
"Norbert is biting your foot," Hermione warned Hagrid worriedly. The dragon was venomous, and being bitten was extremely dangerous.
"It's alright, Norbert just bit my boot; he was just playing." Hagrid reached out to touch the little dragon's head, only to have it bite his leather glove. He said nonchalantly to Harry and Hermione outside, "The books say that Spinosaurus are exceptionally aggressive."
"Dragons are definitely one of the most dangerous creatures in the world, and they are almost impossible to tame!" Hermione whispered to Harry. "I really can't understand how Hagrid could raise one like a fluffy little rabbit."
"I don't know either," Harry said with a wry smile.
Ever since he saw Ron's miserable state, he has stayed as far away from Norbert as possible.
He didn't want to get bitten.
Norbert is very active now, and like a puppy, he looks like he wants to bite everything. However, the worst part is that the Norwegian Ridgeback's teeth are venomous, and a bite could have serious consequences.
"Hagrid, maybe we can use Stunning Spell on him to calm him down," Hermione suggested, as she couldn't bear to see Hagrid being tormented by the dragon like that.
"That's a good idea." Harry agreed with Hermione. "By the way, what is the Stunning Spell?"
"I found it in the library," Hermione explained. "Being hit by Charms will cause you to fall into a coma. I read it in a book. It's said that dragon tamers use Stunning Spell to calm the dragons down."
"You can't do that, it's just a child!" Hagrid shouted, stopping Hermione's cruel act.
"I dare say Hagrid will definitely get himself into trouble if he continues like this." Harry didn't want to get involved in these messes and was just looking forward to Saturday.
Shortly after Harry and Hermione left, Albert returned with Fang.
The hound's tail had been bandaged, but the dog still looked listless, and its tail was no longer wagging.
"Kettleburn probably guessed it," Albert said to Hagrid inside the Hunting Cabin, sitting on a chair outside. "You know, word of your dragon-keeping has spread throughout the school."
"Harry and Hermione just arrived. They said they'll send Norbert away on Saturday." Hagrid's voice trembled slightly, as if he were very sad.
"Oh, so the letter is real. You should thank them properly." Albert took some dog food out of his pocket and fed it to Fang, scratching its ears as he spoke to Hagrid in the room.
"They took a huge risk; if Filch catches them, they'll definitely be put in solitary confinement."
Hagrid fell silent.
In fact, he was so preoccupied with the dragon that he couldn't hear anything else, or perhaps the banging noises coming from the room were drowning out Albert's voice.
Albert didn't care about Hagrid's thoughts; as long as he had tasks to do and gained experience, that was enough.
After checking on Fang, Albert went straight back to the castle. He had just passed through the Entrance Hall when he was harassed by Fred and George.
"Does Hagrid really keep a dragon?" Fred pulled Albert aside to a secluded spot and asked in a low voice.
"Ron's wound was indeed from a dragon bite," George said.
"Evidence?"
"This letter."
George pulled a piece of parchment from his pocket and waved it in front of Albert.
"This is the letter Malfoy got from Ron," Fred added.
"The handwriting on it is indeed Charlie's, so we believe that story is true," George continued.
"Stop causing trouble."
"We can help," Fred and George said in unison.
"You can't help!" Albert said helplessly. "I guess even the professors know. If they come out on patrol, your Disillusionment Charm won't be able to hide it from them at all."
"Actually, we wanted to see what the little dragon would look like," Fred said, unwilling to give up.
"I have photos; I'll show them to you after this is over." Albert directly refused to let the Twins cause trouble for Hagrid.
If they ruin the rest of the story, will he still be able to claim the title of Seer? "So, what are they planning to do..."
"Potter seems to have a pretty good Invisibility Cloak." Albert noticed someone approaching and changed his tone, "Going to the library? I don't think you've finished your homework."
"Oh, okay!"
Fred and George were both disappointed to see that Albert was impervious to criticism.
They could go see the baby dragon at Hagrid's place, but doing so could get Hagrid into big trouble.
So the best thing to do now is to shut up and pretend you know nothing.
