Background / History

The Shuitu Clan originates from the Weishui Tribe. Because the Weishui River is full of shoals, the tribe became known as the Shuitu Clan, and its people commonly use the surname Shui. 5

The clan's inherited totem is the Water God River God, a Totem Spirit associated with the human ancestors who opened the Great Wilderness ten thousand years earlier. Its members cultivate River God visualizations and water-based totem arts. 26

The clan holds substantial influence within Sword Gate. It has Qi Refiners and Elders among the sect, and its core disciples receive direct instruction, spirit medicines, heavenly treasures, Totem God Pillars, and Soul Weapons. 5 25 26

Heavenly Phenomenon Mother incident

Shui Qingyan was summoned to the mountain by a Shuitu Clan Qi Refiner and later became possessed by the Heavenly Phenomenon Mother; Zhong Yue states that her soul was scattered as a result. This led him to regard the clan's Qi Refiners as highly suspect in the entity's escape from the Demon Ruins. 18 19 24

During the Beast God Ridge crisis, an Elder of the Shuitu Clan argued that Sword Gate should permit the Demonic Race to explore the God-level seal rather than risk open war. 39 Elder Shui Zi'an later ordered Shui Anshan to sell news of the seal to the Demonic Race if the clan could not break it themselves, viewing the information as a source of profit. 40

After sighting Zhong Yue in his Dragon Steed form, the clan pursued him in an attempt to capture and raise the rare Divine Seed. Their negotiations with Yan Yunsheng enabled the Demonic Race to explore Beast God Ridge. 41 Two Shuitu Clan Qi Refiners continued the pursuit for more than ten days, but Zhong Yue escaped their siege at the Weishui River. 42

Major Conflicts

Scripture Hall confrontation

Shuitu Clan and Lishan Clan core disciples came down from the Inner Court to test the Upper Court's strength before the Unrestricted Duel. Shuitu disciples injured Ting Lanyue and He Chengchuan, prompting Zhong Yue to retaliate. 24 25

Zhong Yue defeated Shui Lingshan and another Shuitu disciple with single punches, then entered the clan's quiet room and defeated eight core disciples despite their Totem Pillar formation, Soul Weapons, and River God techniques. 24 25

Shui Qinghe intervened to recover the clan's honor. His River God Body withstood Zhong Yue's attacks better than the other core disciples, and their exchange ended without a decisive victor when Shui Qinghe withdrew to preserve his hidden techniques for the Unrestricted Duel. 26 27

Unrestricted Duel
