Background
Di Jun ruled the Demon Clan alongside his younger brother, Eastern Emperor Taiyi. Unlike Taiyi’s impulsive pursuit of revenge after being injured by the Nine Sword Star Pattern Grass, Di Jun recognized the danger of provoking an unknown power and persuaded him to stand down. 20
He and Taiyi later used the sun and Di Jun’s three feathers to create a new world, forming its mountains, rivers, celestial bodies, and spirit beings. Di Jun refused Demon Master Kunpeng’s request for the Sun Crystal used in the process, creating resentment between them. 180
His ambition to make the Demon Clan the overlord of the Primordial Era drove him into conflict with the Human Race, Witch Clan, and Three Tribes. Ancestor Hongjun promised him a Saint position and Demon Clan dominance in exchange for destroying the Witch Clan; Di Jun subsequently violated a peace agreement and ambushed Di Jiang. 225 229 231
After Chen Sheng cast doubt on Hongjun’s promises, Di Jun briefly questioned whether the Demon Clan was being deceived. Hongjun restored his confidence by claiming the Human Race would be annihilated and that victory over the Witch Clan would secure the Demon Clan’s supremacy. 417 420

He is calculating when advantageous, but self-preservation often overrides loyalty. He delegates Hongjun’s dangerous order to investigate Luohu to Kunpeng, abandons the Three Tribes’ patriarchs during the Nine Sword Star Pattern Grass’s assault, and attempts to flee when the Human Race gains overwhelming support. 424 695 663
Despite his ruthlessness, Di Jun is protective of Taiyi and his ten Golden Crow sons. He worries over Taiyi’s disappearance, lends him demonic energy after Luohu’s attack, and becomes enraged when Chen Sheng cages and mistreats his sons. 194 435 443
