Xuan Nie was originally a Dragon Race Saint Prince and the son of the Dragon Emperor Jue Mo. As a Saint Dragon Child created through the Dragon Emperor's gene construction, he was raised under the protection of powerful figures rather than developing a strong sense of crisis. Dong Huaiyue—his master's formal disciple—was effectively his teacher and elder-sister figure for hundreds of Void Ember Years. 692 698 723

Eight thousand years before his arrival on Earth, the Dragon Emperor and Dong Huaiyue apparently perished in the Chaos Sea. The Juegu Dynasty fell into internal conflict, and Xuan Nie and his brothers were targeted by mysterious forces connected to the other Saint Emperors. Xuan Nie escaped only as a remnant soul and began rebuilding his body and cultivation. 405

He initially treated Earth as an insignificant desolate planet. After losing to the Ice Flame Saint Child's Stasis Domain and recognizing Qin Heng's abnormal strength, he abandoned open hostility and accepted a temporary truce with Qin Heng. 390
