Marin first approaches Kira Yoshikage at school as the intermediary for Aoyama Nanami, asking him to add Nanami on LINE. Although Kira initially considers her a social butterfly fundamentally incompatible with his quiet lifestyle, Marin keeps seeking opportunities to involve him in her plans. 6

She hires Kira for 10,000 yen to accompany her to the Tokyo Anime Fair, bringing Miura Yumiko and Yuibihama Yui along. It is Marin’s first convention despite having wanted to attend since middle school. During the Anti-Intellectual Cult bombing, she unknowingly receives a time bomb disguised as a frog plush; Kira disarms it before it detonates. Shaken by the attack, she follows Kira’s lead out of the venue and agrees not to expose his apparent supernatural involvement. 10 13

After learning that Kira designs and makes his own clothing, Marin asks him to create a Kuroe Shizuku cosplay costume from Wet Girl 2.
