History
Creation and early survival
Nuwa created the Human Race on the shores of the East Sea using the Nine Heavens Breath Soil, Three Lights Divine Water, and Creation Cauldron. After shaping the first humans individually, she used the Innate Gourd Vine to create them in great numbers. 96
While Zhou Ming drew the Heavenly Dao’s attention by proving his Dao, Nuwa secretly completed an additional 129,601st human. Houtu concealed this figure with the Dao Origin Divine Pearl and infused it with a Primordial Spirit carrying Zhou Ming’s hopes before Nuwa formally proclaimed the establishment of the Human Race. 98
The newborn race was physically weak and lacked even basic survival knowledge. Early humans died to demonic beasts, poisonous plants, natural disasters, and the dangers of the Primordial World. 100 109 Nuwa declared the Human Race under her protection, while Zhou Ming insisted that its future must rest on self-reliance rather than dependence on the Witch Clan. 100 94 95
Guidance and cultural growth
Hou Yi was sent to protect the Human Race discreetly and entrusted with the Innate Gourd Vine. His Witch Clan techniques gave Wu an initial, imperfect basis for a human cultivation method. 105 109
Zhen Yuanzi and Hongyun later remained in the ancestral land for tens of thousands of years, preaching the Dao three times and guiding the Human Race’s early leaders. Their teachings supported the race’s multiplication and cultivation, though they ultimately left its future to the humans themselves. 113
After achieving stability near the Houtu Tribe, Wu created a written language for the Human Race. The first characters could record its knowledge, history, and civilization, ending reliance on oral transmission alone. 193 194 Wu also promoted animal husbandry, agriculture, irrigation, and the cultivation of edible plants, reducing the race’s dependence on dangerous hunting. 195
Independence and human governance
Fuxi’s leadership united scattered tribes under a common Co-Lord. With support from the ancestral elders, he led the Human Race out of Witch Clan territory, established the city of Chen, and became the first Human Emperor. 276 277
Under Fuxi, the Human Race formalized human ethics and marriage, accepted the Dragon Clan as a totem, and received the Innate Eight Trigrams for avoiding danger and perceiving heavenly secrets. 278 The succession of Human Emperors continued through Shennong, Xuanyuan, and later rulers, creating a lasting political order for the race. 278 285 307
Xuanyuan later used the Human Emperor Sword to suppress Chi You and brought the previously divided tribes under unified Human Emperor rule. 303 304 After he spread the Immortal Scripture and completed his merits, the Three Sovereigns returned to Huoyun Cave alongside the Human Race’s ancestral sages to suppress and safeguard human destiny. 306 307 311
Later consolidation and sovereignty
During the Investiture of the Gods Calamity, the Human Race again became the focal point of conflicts among the saintly lineages. 363 The Human Emperor Sword recognized Zi Shou as its master at birth, and his enthronement as Di Xin broke the seal on his memories as Wu’s reincarnation. 405 409
As Human Emperor, Di Xin sought to use Human Dao destiny to establish a formation defending Chaoge and the Human Race. He secured the assistance of Yunxiao, Qiongxiao, Bixiao, and the Ten Heavenly Lords of the Intercepting Sect in this undertaking. 413 416 430
After Wu returned to Huoyun Cave, the Human Race’s territory had been unified and its destiny grew more concentrated. This prosperity prepared Hongyun for his own attempt to attain Hunyuan and gave Wu the foundation to complete the Martial Dao’s later realms. 557
Appearance
Humans are modeled after the Innate Dao Bodies of the beings of the Primordial World. Though initially frail compared with the Witch Clan and many other races, their form is exceptionally compatible with the Great Dao. 91 101
- Possess Innate Dao Bodies. 97 101
- Initially have weak Blood Essence and no obvious innate divine abilities. 106
- Reproduce rapidly and expand across vast territories. 111
- Include Witch-Humans, descendants with both Human Race and Witch Clan bloodlines. 277
- Have grown into a population numbering in the billions, allowing exceptional individuals with great destiny to emerge despite the generally weaker innate talent of ordinary humans. 363 372
Personality
The Human Race is characterized by resilience and vigilance. Its early tribes survived only by remaining alert to unknown visitors, dangerous beasts, and the hostile environment around them. 109 111
Its leading figures repeatedly favor independence over comfortable dependence. Wu resists becoming a tool of the Heavenly Dao or a subordinate of stronger factions, while Fuxi’s migration establishes a human state outside Witch Clan territory. 95 276 277
The race is also strongly oriented toward preservation and progress. Its leaders seek cultivation methods, writing, agriculture, governance, and later an independent Dao so that future generations will not be constrained by the limitations of the past. 109 193 195 647
Human leaders also maintain a firm collective bottom line against outside powers. While willing to cooperate with Western Prosperity in spreading teachings, Hongyun and the sages refuse to permit human lives to become sacrifices or stepping stones for another faction’s prosperity. 594 595
Abilities & Skills
Innate Dao Bodies
The Human Race’s greatest inherent advantage is its compatibility with the Great Dao. Zhou Ming identifies this trait as the source of its immense potential despite its weak beginning. 101
- Enables exceptional long-term cultivation potential. 101
- Allows humans to follow both Martial Dao and Immortal Dao paths. 306
- Does not grant immediate physical strength or innate divine abilities. 100 106
Martial Dao
Wu develops the Martial Dao from early Witch Clan body-tempering techniques and his own deductions. It becomes the Human Race’s principal self-reliant cultivation system. 109 128
- Refines body, qi, and spirit. 648
- Uses combat and tempering to advance cultivation. 195
- Progresses toward the principle of “Body as Universe,” in which a cultivator develops an embryonic world within their body. 648
- Is open to all Human Race cultivators and can lead to the Hunyuan Martial Saint realm. 647 648
- Replaces the Method of Slaying Three Corpses with the Dao of Laws among Human Race cultivators. 367
Immortal Scripture
The Immortal Scripture was jointly deduced as an alternative for humans whose talents are better suited to immortal cultivation than Martial Dao. 306
- Provides a human-specific immortal cultivation method. 306
- Allows Martial Dao and Immortal Dao to develop in parallel. 306
- Was spread throughout the Human Race by Xuanyuan, triggering widespread immortal cultivation. 306
Human Dao
The Human Dao emerges from the accumulated destiny, struggle, knowledge, and inheritance of intelligent beings in the Primordial World. The Human Race is its central foundation, but the Human Dao is not exclusively its possession. 307 651
- Gives the Human Race a basis to stand as equals with the Witch Clan and Heavenly Dao. 307
- Is linked to the Kongtong Seal, making comprehension and control of the Human Dao far easier through the treasure. 307
- Contains nine Saint positions, some of which the Human Race can share with beings willing to bind their destiny to its interests. 272 273
- Its vast destiny can serve as the core power source of a formation protecting the Human Race. 413 416 430
- Must bless all living beings rather than becoming a private source of power for the Human Race alone. 651

Story Role / Major Arcs
Human Race’s Great Tribulation
The Demon Clan discovers that human vital essence and souls can be used to forge treasures against Immortal Court cultivators, leading to a widespread slaughter of humans. 211 Nuwa battles the Sanqing to save her creation while Wu emerges from seclusion to organize resistance and evacuate the Human Race. 213
Outnumbered and outmatched, the Human Race suffers heavily. Wu’s battle against Ghost Chariot forces him to integrate the Law of Strength into the Martial Dao and advance to Primordial Golden Immortal. 217 218 A Saint ends the conflict, declares the Great Tribulation passed, and ensures the slain humans will enter reincarnation and return to the Human Race. 218
Great Prosperity and the Human Dao
The Human Race’s great prosperity is governed through the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors. Its increasing destiny draws the attention of the Saints, who seek influence over the race and the authority that may come from it. 241 311
After Fuxi, Shennong, and Xuanyuan complete their merits, Zhou Ming proclaims the emergence of the Human Dao. He binds the Kongtong Seal to it but gives the treasure to Wu rather than retaining it for the Witch Clan. 307
Investiture of the Gods Calamity
The Human Race becomes the center of the Investiture of the Gods Calamity, with Wu recognizing that its billions of members cannot avoid the conflict between competing saintly lineages. 363
Zi Shou’s accession as Di Xin restores Wu’s memories through the Human Emperor Sword and gives the Human Race a ruler determined to act as its true Human Emperor. 405 409 Di Xin then cooperates with the Intercepting Sect to mobilize Human Dao destiny in defense of Chaoge and the Human Race. 413 416 430
Completion of the Martial Dao
After long seclusion, Wu attains the Dao through martial strength and establishes the Martial Dao’s rule. This gives the Human Race a Hunyuan path that does not rely on external treasures, Heavenly Dao methods, or the Method of Slaying Three Corpses. 647 648
