Background

Red Seele existed as the consciousness within Blue Seele's Stigmata and was trapped with her in the Quantum Sea after Blue Seele entered it in 2013. She kept track of their time there more carefully than Blue Seele, estimating that they had spent roughly a year in the Sea 31.

Initially visible only to Blue Seele, Red Seele acted as her counterpart and protector, taking control when fighting was necessary. Kaino was able to perceive her because of his own Stigmata, mistaking her for Blue Seele's sister before learning that she was “the other” Seele 30 31.

Kaino later created a physical vessel for her using the Authority of the Herrscher of Death, then linked her consciousness to it with the Feather of the Underworld. The new body resembled her former appearance, with longer reddish-black hair and wine-red eyes 56.

Appearance

Before gaining a body, Seele appeared as a red-haired, red-eyed girl visible only to Blue Seele and certain consciousness-sensitive individuals. After embodiment, she retained her red color scheme while gaining a distinct physical presence.

Personality

Seele is blunt, suspicious, and intensely protective of Blue Seele. She distrusts strangers quickly, objects when Kaino's comments seem to imply that she might harm Blue Seele, and repeatedly frames her actions as protecting “this body” rather than helping others 30 31.

Compared with Blue Seele's timid and considerate nature, Seele is more decisive, teasing, and mischievous. She encourages impulsive choices, such as entering another person's consciousness space without permission, and openly enjoys provoking Kaino and Bronya 32 52 61.

Despite her abrasive manner, she is loyal to those she accepts. Her concern for Blue Seele remains central to her actions, while her growing attachment to Kaino develops into jealousy, possessiveness, and eventually an open romantic relationship 64 79 159.

Stigmata Consciousness

As Blue Seele's alternate consciousness, Seele could exist without a body and was ordinarily invisible to others.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Quantum Sea

Seele accompanies Blue Seele during their confinement in the Quantum Sea, guarding her and helping her survive encounters with Honkai Beasts. Kaino's ability to see her begins their association 29 30.

Seaside Bubble World

She reluctantly joins Kaino and Blue Seele on a trip to a seaside bubble world. She complains about the heat, mocks Kaino's failed attempt to use conjured money, and participates in the Beast Tamer Competition alongside them 32 38.

Consciousness Expedition

When Kaino enters another Seele's consciousness to retrieve her lost counterpart, Red Seele follows despite Blue Seele's objections. Her energy-draining ability disrupts Kaino's containment of the Herrscher of the End, but she later helps him awaken Blue Seele and break free of the mental world 52 53.

Embodiment and Return

After leaving the bubble world, Kaino offers Seele a body of her own. He creates the vessel through the Herrscher of Death's Authority and transfers her consciousness into it with the Feather of the Underworld 56.

St. Freya

Seele returns to the outside world with Kaino and meets Bronya, who initially mistakes her for the Blue Seele she has been seeking. She later fights beside Kaino and Bella during Anti-Entropy's attack on St. Freya 61 74.

Relationship with Kaino

Seele's bond with Kaino grows from companionship into romance. She openly asserts that she is different from Blue Seele, makes Kaino wear a bracelet as a sign that he is taken, and becomes openly jealous when other girls draw his attention 79 159. By the epilogue, she is married to Kaino and raises their daughter, Chuyong, with him 173.
