Background / History

The Witch Clan originates from Pangu's bloodline. Its twelve highest members, the Twelve Ancestral Witches, were conceived from Pangu's Essence Blood in the Father God's Blood Pool within Pangu Hall. Once the pool's Essence Blood was exhausted, it could no longer produce Ancestral Witches; it instead gave birth to Great Witches with progressively weaker bloodlines. 7

Unlike most cultivators, the Witch Clan possesses no Primordial Spirits. This prevents them from refining and conventionally controlling magical treasures, but their bodies are extraordinarily powerful: the Ancestral Witches' physiques surpass ordinary Innate Spiritual Treasures from birth. 2 8

The clan's early conflict with the Demon Clan begins when the Twelve Ancestral Witches besiege Dijun and Taiyi in their territory. After learning that Taiyi's Eastern Emperor Bell is Pangu's Chaos Bell, they attempt to kill the two Demon Emperors and reclaim their Father God's relic. Dao Ancestor Hongjun ends the battle and imposes a ten-thousand-year truce, creating lasting resentment among the Ancestral Witches toward him. 3 4

Hongyun later enters their territory, where his Pangu-derived bloodline and physical strength cause the Ancestral Witches to mistake him for an elder member of their race. Although he denies being one of them, his claim to be Pangu's son leads the clan to revere him as the “Divine Son.” 6 7

The Twelve Ancestral Witches surround Dijun and Taiyi, then escalate from punishment to attempted execution after discovering the Eastern Emperor Bell's identity as the Chaos Bell. Hongjun's intervention prevents the Demon Emperors' deaths and delays further large-scale war for ten thousand years. 2 3 4

Hongyun's Recognition as the Divine Son

After Hongyun displays a superior Pangu bloodline, physical strength, and Devouring Divine Ability, the Twelve identify him as an elder Ancestral Witch. His claim to be Pangu's son instead establishes him as their Divine Son, despite his repeated denials of membership in the clan. 6 7

Innate Gourd Vine Distribution

The Witch Clan guards the Innate Gourd Vine in Buzhou Mountain against Dijun, the Three Pure Ones, Nuwa, Jieyin, and Zhunti. Although Dijiang publicly agrees to distribute the vine's treasures, the Ancestral Witches give its gourds, vine, and Nine Heavens Breathing Soil to Hongyun under Dao-heart oaths that prevent the other claimants from objecting. 9 10 11

Second Witch-Demon War

The Witch Clan battles the Demon Clan across its territory for a century. When the Demon Clan deploys the Star Array of the Heavens, the Twelve answer with the Du Tian Shen Sha Great Array. Their Pangu phantom breaks the enemy formation, routs the Demon army, and nearly kills Dijun and Taiyi before Hongjun intervenes again. 28 29 30
