The True Dark Epoch

The light celestials from the Origin Realm and the Abyss Realm both looked toward the layered space between them—the Myriad Worlds.

An Ancient God of Light slowly spoke. "We sealed the universe's Great Dao and ushered in the Age of Dharma's End, but they created a new system. Those mortals who defied heaven reopened the Divine Path. They no longer rely on heaven and earth, and have become Ancient Gods who are no longer granted divine titles by the Heavenly Dao. They harbor wild ambitions and are no longer under the control of our Heavenly Dao!"

Everyone knew that Ancient Gods beyond the control of the Heavenly Dao represented the ability to defy heaven.

"Has the new system risen?" another identical Ancient God of Light spoke. "Then should we activate the Great Dao's revival ahead of time and awaken this primordial universe? Use our Heaven and Earth Ancient Gods to wipe out these Godhead Ancient Gods."

Every Ancient God of Light behaved in much the same way, and they even possessed an extraordinary tacit understanding.

Their exchange before them seemed more like the countless subdivided personalities of a single person, with the neurons in a brain colliding with one another.

They had already become a special kind of alternative life-form, like a collective-consciousness AI engaging in self-reflection.
