We Are One in Mind, Lord Barbatos!

The Dark Knights, empowered by Barbatos, were far from weak. To a certain extent, they had already become part of Barbatos.

But to Chen Tao, those members of the Dark Knights were problems with their answers already written in. Barbatos had merely strengthened them; he had not changed their nature. Not only had Barbatos never expected Chen Tao to reach him so quickly—even Chen Tao himself had not expected it.

He was currently attempting to seize control of the Forge's gates. Using the authority Barbatos had once granted him, he carefully skirted around Barbatos's will and pried at the Forge's doors. The Batman Who Laughs planned to use the opening of the gates as his bargaining chip, but then he felt the gates open one step ahead of their control.

When Emperor Joker, Brainiac, and the others filed in, The Batman Who Laughs gained only one piece of information from his failed scheme:

"Everything is going according to my plan."

The Batman Who Laughs stared unhappily at the taunt delivered in his own habitual tone.
