Grotesque Justice League, Appear!

Huff, huff, huff...

When Lex Luthor sat in the center of the enormous hemispherical device and turned his chair around, he saw Wonder Woman, Green Lantern Hal, Captain Cold, and several others had just withdrawn from the front lines. Aside from Wonder Woman, who never tired, the others had collapsed onto the ground, gasping heavily.

Their helmets had been temporarily taken away after they were sent back through the Boom Tube to the League's main hall. The Ventriloquist would continue charging those helmets with psychic energy, using them as coordinates so that his telepathy could protect his teammates during battle.

Luthor had transformed the Ventriloquist into a complete monster, but this action had also allowed him to combine the psychic abilities of Brainiac and Starro the Conqueror. His own chaotic personality-splitting ability had then multiplied the legacy of those two psychic powers.

With the machine's help, the Ventriloquist had erected a gigantic psychic shield around the entire Earth, preventing any ordinary person from being controlled by Brainiac's psychic abilities.

Even so, Brainiac's powerful psychic abilities still frequently broke through and squeezed past the invisible psychic shield, repeatedly attempting to control someone—anyone—on Earth.

But once inside Earth, they were in the Ventriloquist's domain. Thus, any ordinary person controlled by Brainiac would be discovered immediately. The Ventriloquist would then invade their mind, expel Brainiac's will, and make them cry out, "Ah!"

As a result, cries of "Ah! Ah!" could be heard throughout the streets and alleys, as if everyone were singing a duet at the top of their lungs.

Luthor ignored the sounds. They were just noise. Things were already good enough. Brainiac was indeed a difficult opponent for the Justice League as it currently stood.
