Background / History

Zhu Zhengwei was reborn into a poor family in Zhujing Village. Born with hemophilia, he understood that his parents had abandoned him because his elder brother suffered an even more severe case. Rather than resent them, he resolved to rewrite his life through training from infancy. 5

As a university student in Reality, Zhu discovered that progress made in the Dream World could synchronize with his physical body and Qi. He built a network of “mining rigs” to keep his Local Area Network active, recruited dream participants, and became unknowingly associated with the urban legend of the “Peerless Fierce Man.” 8 9

He treated the Dream World as both a civilization project and laboratory. In the Seaside Ghost Country, he experimented with Qi cultivation in animals, eventually producing the Giant Octopus—the first documented Extraordinary Creature—after forty years of research. 22 23

After becoming a deity-like overseer of multiple dream worlds, Zhu struggled with the responsibility of creating and directing civilizations while wishing to preserve an ordinary student life. He repeatedly abandoned divine grandeur to enter the world as a mortal, research cultivation systems, travel, and experience life on his own terms. 32 114 119 127

His later lives and clones allowed him to operate across worlds: infiltrating the Red Moon World as a curse cultivator, becoming its eighth Demon God, assuming the generated identity of Zhen Yuanzi, and serving under Li Shimin in Great Tang Chang'an City. 202 207 271 291

Appearance

Zhu Zhengwei is usually able to alter or conceal his identity through reincarnation, clones, and generated personas. His most recognizable feature is his right eye, described as beautiful and marked by a tear mole. 13

  • A tear mole sits at the corner of his right eye. 13
  • He has appeared enveloped in colorful Qi and white radiance; the rainbow-like effect was produced through the light-refraction function of his Umbrella Shield. 48
  • As a remnant soul and curse-system ancestor, he can manifest as an indistinct spiritual entity rather than a creature of flesh and blood. 203
  • His bodies have included a mortal body from Zhujing Village, a blood-parasitic spiritual lifeform, and numerous reincarnated or cloned identities. 114 156 187

Personality

Zhu Zhengwei is highly pragmatic, curious, and methodical. He approaches worlds, civilizations, and cultivation systems as interconnected experiments, constantly collecting information and adapting methods from rivals. 17 186 207

He prefers indirect solutions over frontal confrontation. Zhu repeatedly relies on infiltration, reincarnation, deception, delegated labor, and exploiting systems already built by others; he openly considers stealth one of his defining strengths. 158 459 461

Despite his opportunism, he is not wholly indifferent to consequences. He respects potential in others, later compensates Lady White Bone for taking her Opportunity, and refuses cultivation paths he considers unsuitable for mass adoption. 22 114 323

  • Values personal freedom and ordinary experiences despite his divine status. 114 119 129
  • Habitually slacks off when possible, even while possessing extraordinary all-round talent. 287 292
  • Regards knowledge as civilization’s greatest resource. 119
  • Becomes increasingly detached as his soul and divinity recover, though he remains aware of the danger of losing his mortal perspective. 32 207
