| Golden Core Middle Stage | 1376 1472 | Twenty-Six-Pattern is the stated upper limit and threshold of Golden Core Middle Stage Divine Consciousness. Mo Hua later reaches this realm’s threshold unusually quickly. |
| Golden Core Late Stage | 1376 | Twenty-Seven-Pattern Divine Consciousness corresponds to Golden Core Late Stage. |
| Golden Core Peak Stage | 1376 1388 | Twenty-Nine-Pattern is the ultimate Divine Consciousness limit of the Golden Core Realm, approaching Feather Transformation. |
Realm Overview
Golden Core follows Foundation Establishment Peak Stage and precedes Feather Transformation. It is the first true great threshold of cultivation: Lingli crystallizes, the Qi Sea condenses into a core, and the cultivator undergoes a qualitative transformation in physical body, spiritual power, and Divine Consciousness. 1114 1308
| State Boundary | Position of Golden Core Cultivators |
|---|---|
| Second-Grade | Legendary figures 1114 |
| Third-Grade | The upper limit of cultivation that can be used; Golden Cores are regarded as Old Ancestors 523 1114 |
| Fourth-Grade | High-ranking figures 1114 |
| Fifth-Grade | Backbone of great clans and sects; may serve as guest elders or elders 1114 |
Golden Core cultivators possess Lingli condensed like solid crystal, rather than the vapor-like Lingli of Qi Refining or mercury-like Lingli of Foundation Establishment. Their spells can gain tangible forms, vastly increasing their power. 1308
Core Formation
Requirements
- A cultivator must first reach Foundation Establishment Peak Stage, refine Lingli until it flows like mercury, and push it toward crystallization. 1115
- Core Formation gathers the Lingli accumulated from Qi Refining through Foundation Establishment into the Qi Sea, compressing it through the maximum number of Lesser Heavenly Cycles. 1308
- A Natal Magic Treasure is normally forged by blending a Life-Bound Embryo into the convergence of essence, blood, Lingli, and Divine Consciousness. 1308
- Mo Hua’s path required his Divine Sense to form a core first; he considered Twenty-Pattern Divine Sense necessary before his physical cultivation could advance to Golden Core. 924
- The process leaves a cultivator exceptionally vulnerable: Divine Consciousness, flesh, and Lingli must be drawn inward, greatly weakening awareness and resistance to outside threats. 1307
Divine Consciousness and Artifact Control
At Golden Core, Divine Thought object manipulation reaches mastery, raising the effectiveness of artifact and sword control. Late Golden Core cultivators may begin exploring Soul Projection, while Feather Transformation cultivators can truly master it. 839
A major-realm breakthrough also multiplies Divine Consciousness. Mo Hua’s unusually deep reserves allowed his Divine Consciousness to rise from Twenty-Four-Pattern to the Twenty-Nine-Pattern Golden Core peak immediately after forming his physical core. 1376
Combat Power
- Golden Core Lingli can be condensed into destructive force capable of reducing forests to ash and crumbling mountain rock. 1195
- Golden Core-level battles involve Natal Magic Treasures, wide-area techniques, and far greater destructive scale than Foundation Establishment combat. 916 971
- Foundation Establishment cultivators generally cannot endure direct Golden Core attacks; Mo Hua judges that even one punch from a Golden Core could be fatal to him before his breakthrough. 1195
- Golden Core does not eliminate differences in strength: early-, middle-, late-, and peak-stage cultivators remain widely separated in combat ability. 1194 1350
Core Grade
Core Grade is the quality of the Golden Core formed during breakthrough. It is closely tied to a cultivator’s Spirit Root, cultivation technique, total Lingli circulation, and preparation. Once a core is fully condensed, its grade is fixed for life. 1305 1334 1375
| Grade principle | Effect |
|---|---|
| Spirit Root | Determines the upper limit of cultivation techniques a cultivator can practice. 1305 |
| Cultivation technique | Determines the conventional upper limit of the Golden Core’s grade. 1305 1336 |
| Lingli cycles | The total quantity of circulating spiritual energy affects whether a core’s grade can be preserved during formation. 1334 |
| Core Grade | Determines the quality of the Golden Core, future cultivation foundation, and—by prevailing cultivation belief—a cultivator’s Fate. 1305 1366 |
High-Grade Golden Cores are treated as the expected result for elite prodigies with top-grade Spirit Roots and techniques. A drop from high grade to middle grade is considered a severe loss of future potential. 1305
Mo Hua's Golden Core Formation
Divine Consciousness Core
Before forming a physical Golden Core, Mo Hua formed a Divine Consciousness Golden Core while his cultivation remained at Foundation Establishment. Elder Xun considered this unprecedented in Void Gate’s recorded history, as Mo Hua had crossed an entire major realm with his Divine Consciousness. 982
First Attempt
Mo Hua’s first attempt used one-twelfth of the Twelve-Meridian Taotie Spirit Bone Array as a Natal Array Formation. His developing core was unusually bright and golden because his Divinity, faith, and Divine Thought were merging into it. 1305 1308
He transferred his killing tribulation to a straw dog, but powerful cultivators traced his causality and directed killing intent at him. The resulting interference collapsed his forming core; True Person Feather Transformation then sealed his Divine Consciousness and Divinity with a Golden Needle and captured him. 1308
Dragon Pool Formation
At the Dragon Pool, Mo Hua used the Taotie Spirit Bone Array, Spirit Stones, True Dragon Qi, and the incomplete Commoners Transforming into Dragons Array to overcome the limitations of his mid-low-grade Spirit Root. 1374 1375
His formation proceeded through several temporary grades:
| Core Grade Reached | Method |
|---|---|
| Middle-middle grade | Infused Lingli from the Taotie Spirit Bone Array, then used True Dragon Qi to lock the result. 1375 |
| Middle-upper grade | Repeated the infusion-and-locking process. 1375 |
| Lower-upper grade | First crossed into the high-grade category. 1375 |
| Upper-middle grade | Continued feeding Life-Bound Lingli from the Spirit Bone Array into the core. 1375 |
| Upper-upper-grade Great Five Elements True Dragon Lock Golden Core | Perfected the Five Elements quality and secured it with the strongest strand of True Dragon Qi. 1375 |
| Low-high / Low-Grade Five Qi True Dragon Lock Golden Core | The Heavenly Dao stripped away Lingli gained through the grade-raising method, reducing the completed core to a low grade. 1376 1472 |
The Heavenly Dao’s correction ended only after Mo Hua’s core had fallen to a grade permitted by his Spirit Root. Although bitterly disappointed, Mo Hua successfully entered the Golden Core Realm. 1376
Notable Phenomena
The Dragon Pool saw numerous prodigies form cores simultaneously, producing Golden Core Phenomena including Living Beauty Corpse, Evil Dragon Ascending to Heaven, Nine Desires Lotus Blooming, Human Emperor, White Crane Flying Immortal, Innate Purple Qi, Vajra Glaring Eyes, and Black Tortoise Golden Core. 1376
Mo Hua’s own breakthrough released a pressure so intense that late- and peak-stage Golden Core cultivators sensed something savage within the Dragon Pool but could not identify its source through Divine Consciousness. 1376
“The Golden Core is the first great dividing line of the world's cultivators.” 1366
