Background / History

Uchiha Tokimitsu identifies Garaga as one of the few known Ryūchi Cave descendants besides the White Snake Sage and the Three Goddesses to possess Sage Chakra. He is also said to possess a petrification ability. 345

The White Snake Sage later orders Garaga to form a Summoning Contract with Orochimaru, making him Orochimaru's strongest Ryūchi Cave summoning beast beneath the Sage and the Three Goddesses. 346

Before the conflict with the Shogunate fleet, Garaga had already fled the Battle of the Land of Swamps after Ryūchi Cave suffered heavy losses. The defeat made him markedly more cautious against the Shogunate's military power. 457

During the decisive campaign, Tagitsuhime sends him to the front to enforce discipline by devouring any retreating Ninja Snakes or Ninja Frogs. 371 He later joins the assault on the Shogunate fleet, but abandons the battlefield after concentrated rockets and ninjutsu bombard him. 458 After returning to Ryūchi Cave, he faces the White Snake Sage with his Reverse Scales fully regrown. 465

Unlike his former reckless self, Garaga learns from Ryūchi Cave's defeat in the Land of Swamps. He is hostile toward Mount Myōboku's frogs and readily threatens violence, but he values his own survival over loyalty to the alliance when confronted by the Shogunate's overwhelming firepower. 457 458
