Xuanxiao and Yin-Yang Daoist's discussion of the Dao lasted a full epoch.
When the discourse ended, Yin-Yang Daoist looked at Xuanxiao with a rather complicated expression.
Over that epoch, Yin-Yang Daoist's state of mind had undergone a tremendous shift.
From initially delighting in playing the teacher, to later exchanging views as equals with Xuanxiao, and finally sincerely seeking guidance from him.
His Dao-heart had been reshaped countless times in the process.
Xuanxiao's comprehension of the Yin Yang Great Dao was nothing short of stunning. At first, he knew nothing of it, yet in just one epoch, he not only mastered the Yin Yang Great Dao but even surpassed Yin-Yang Daoist in realm.
And Yin-Yang Daoist had taken dozens of Chaos Kalpas to reach his current level.
Standing before Xuanxiao, Yin-Yang Daoist couldn't help feeling ashamed—a crushing sense of inadequacy he had never experienced when dealing with other Innate Divine Beings.
"Fellow Daoist, in talent, foundation, and affinity for the Yin Yang Great Dao, you are the most extreme being I have ever seen.
If I hadn't witnessed with my own eyes your starting from total ignorance of the Yin Yang Great Dao, I would find it hard to believe you could achieve so much in a single epoch."
Yin-Yang Daoist looked at Xuanxiao with a complex expression. Though he had repeatedly consoled himself not to compare with a "monster" like Xuanxiao, the words still came out tinged with sourness.
Hearing this, Xuanxiao waved his hand and said:
"It's nothing. The Yin Yang Great Dao is rather difficult; spending an epoch to achieve only a minor success is hardly ideal." He shook his head regretfully, as if taking an entire epoch to cultivate was something utterly shameful.
Yin-Yang Daoist's expression froze instantly.
"Heh, Xuanxiao, don't tease me. To cultivate the Yin Yang Great Dao to the Golden Immortal of the Origin realm in one epoch is already terrifyingly fast—and you're still not satisfied?"
Xuanxiao just smiled and didn't answer.
He naturally wouldn't tell Yin-Yang Daoist that during that epoch, he hadn't devoted himself entirely to the Yin Yang Great Dao; most of his effort had gone into integrating it into his own Thunder Great Dao.
If he had focused solely on the Yin Yang Great Dao, with his ability, he wouldn't have needed a full epoch.
"Yin-Yang Daoist, I've troubled you long enough. It's time I continue my travels through the Primordial World."
Xuanxiao rose, then hesitated, looking back at Yin-Yang Daoist.
"Yin-Yang Daoist, considering the friendship we've built discussing the Dao, let me offer you some advice."
Yin-Yang Daoist's expression immediately turned serious: "I await Xuanxiao's guidance."
Xuanxiao was Pangu's younger brother, after all—surely he knew many hidden secrets of the Primordial World.
"If that fellow Hongjun ever comes asking for your help, you'd best be cautious," Xuanxiao said gravely.
"Fellow Daoist Hongjun? Would he scheme against me?" Yin-Yang Daoist was stunned.
He and Hongjun were close friends; they had fought Side by Side against the Fierce Beasts, their bond deep. He found it hard to believe Hongjun would harm him.
Xuanxiao looked at the bewildered Yin-Yang Daoist and shook his head: "Hongjun may have no such intention, but the one above him—that's another matter. In any case, be very careful with any invitation from Hongjun." Xuanxiao curled his lip in disdain.
In Xuanxiao's view, Hongjun might not mean to scheme against Yin-Yang Daoist, but the Heavenly Dao was another story.
The Heavenly Dao had no sentience, yet it instinctively rejected beings tainted with Chaos Aura.
And Innate Divine Beings like Yin-Yang Daoist all carried traces of Chaos Aura. In the Heavenly Dao's eyes, they were targets to be purged.
Most of the first generation of Innate Divine Beings in the Primordial World had fallen. Only three survived, and even their fates were far from good.
Yang Mei was forced to leave the Primordial World. Luo Hou incarnated into the Demon Realm and could not enter. Hongjun became the Heavenly Dao's spokesperson, trapped in the Purple Cloud Palace.
Now, in all the Primordial World, only Xuanxiao—by virtue of being Pangu's younger brother and possessing Heaven-Opening Merit—was beyond the Heavenly Dao's reach.
Otherwise, Xuanxiao believed the Heavenly Dao would find every way to deal with him.
The moment Xuanxiao finished speaking, a colossal eye suddenly materialized in the void.
"Heavenly Dao!" Yin-Yang Daoist stared at the giant eye in the void, terror flooding his heart.
"Why would the Heavenly Dao descend now? Could it be that Xuanxiao's mention of 'the one above him' referred to the Heavenly Dao?" Panic seized him.
Xuanxiao paid no heed to Yin-Yang Daoist's thoughts. The instant he saw the Heavenly Dao, blazing fury ignited in his eyes.
"Fine—I haven't settled accounts with you yet, and you come knocking on my door!" Xuanxiao remembered clearly that when he was born and took form, the Heavenly Dao had "tattled" to the Great Dao, earning him a harsh lesson.
Such a great humiliation—how could Xuanxiao forget?
Now, enemies met, eyes blazing with hatred.
"Heavenly Dao, if you've got the guts, strike me down directly! If you don't dare, I'll despise you!" Xuanxiao shouted.
"Heavenly Dao, you little punk..."

"Has Xuanxiao lost his mind? To openly provoke the Heavenly Dao like this—does he truly have no fear?" Yin-Yang Daoist, already terrified by the Heavenly Dao's descent, was utterly dumbfounded by Xuanxiao's reckless behavior.
The Heavenly Dao in the void seemed genuinely enraged by Xuanxiao. Countless tribulations surged around the giant eye.
Seeing this, Xuanxiao's face showed a hint of smugness: "Hehehe, the Heavenly Dao really has no brains. Last time I could control its tribulations, and now it tries the same trick on me? Watch how I handle it this time."
But just as Xuanxiao prepared to act, the tribulations in the void vanished instantly. Only a single Purple Firmament Divine Thunder came crashing down with lightning speed.
"Crack!"
"Ah!!!" With a miserable scream, the Yin-Yang Daoist beside Xuanxiao had his hair instantly stand on end, his body turning dull and lifeless.
"Fellow Daoist Xuanxiao was cursing you, so why are you striking me??" The Yin-Yang Daoist was now filled with grievance, utterly shocked and bewildered.
If the Yin-Yang Daoist were a modern man, he might have bitterly cried out: "Heaven, I beg you, distinguish the loyal from the treacherous!"
Unfortunately, the one striking him was precisely the "Heaven" of this Primordial World—the Heavenly Dao.
"Damn Heavenly Dao, it's even learned to sneak attack!" Xuanxiao looked at the pitiful Yin-Yang Daoist beside him, equally stunned.
In the void, the Heavenly Dao seemed highly satisfied with this outcome, then vanished directly.
Xuanxiao raged and cursed at the direction where the Heavenly Dao had disappeared, but this time the Heavenly Dao acted as if it hadn't heard, never reappearing.
Yet, out of nowhere, another bolt of Purple Firmament Divine Thunder appeared in the void, mercilessly striking the innocent Yin-Yang Daoist once more.
This time, black smoke spewed from the Yin-Yang Daoist's mouth; clearly, his injuries were severe.
"Pah! Too scared to show yourself, are you? And you call yourself the Heavenly Dao?" Xuanxiao continued his relentless shouting.
Seeing Xuanxiao about to curse again, the Yin-Yang Daoist dared not hesitate. He mustered all his strength and reached out to cover Xuanxiao's mouth.
"Mmph mmph..." Xuanxiao struggled fiercely after being muffled.
But the Yin-Yang Daoist, desperate to save his own life, exerted every ounce of his power and managed to temporarily suppress Xuanxiao.
"Fellow Daoist, Fellow Daoist, I beg you, spare me your words! I don't want to end up here today." The Yin-Yang Daoist's face crumpled as he pleaded almost tearfully.
The Yin-Yang Daoist had finally understood: under the chain of cause and effect, the Heavenly Dao couldn't touch Xuanxiao, but it could take it out on him, who was linked to Xuanxiao's words by causality.
At this rate, another seven or eight strikes, and he'd likely have his soul return to heaven and earth.
To preserve his life, the Yin-Yang Daoist could no longer care about anything else.
By now, Xuanxiao had finally realized the plight of his poor friend beside him.
Looking at the utterly miserable Yin-Yang Daoist, he felt a twinge of embarrassment. He'd been so focused on arguing with the Heavenly Dao that he'd completely ignored the man next to him.
Xuanxiao asked cautiously, "Fellow Daoist Yin-Yang, are you... are you alright?"
Hearing Xuanxiao's question, the Yin-Yang Daoist was full of resentment inside: "What do you think? You had your fun cursing, and I took the fall. You're satisfied, but I'm the one suffering."
But he dared not say that aloud. Forcing a smile uglier than tears, he said:
"Fellow Daoist Xuanxiao, I'm fine. Just please, don't curse anymore, or I really might die here."
Seeing the Yin-Yang Daoist's forced smile, Xuanxiao knew he didn't mean it and understood that this was indeed his fault.
Looking at the unlucky Yin-Yang Daoist, Xuanxiao didn't dare curse again. He was afraid that if he kept it up, the Yin-Yang Daoist might really be sent off by him.
Xuanxiao didn't dare test it anymore—after all, if he did, the Yin-Yang Daoist might go from "trying" to "dying."
"Well... Fellow Daoist, I'll take my leave now. Think carefully about what I said earlier." With that, Xuanxiao vanished before the Yin-Yang Daoist could respond.
But Xuanxiao's retreating figure looked a bit hasty.
Seeing Xuanxiao finally gone, the Yin-Yang Daoist let out a long sigh of relief: "Phew, good that he's gone. If he'd stayed any longer, I might have been sent off."
"Still, what Fellow Daoist Xuanxiao said just now probably wasn't baseless. I'll have to be more vigilant from now on. If it comes to it, I'll leave the Primordial World. But survival in the Chaos is harsh, so I'll stay here unless absolutely necessary." The Yin-Yang Daoist sighed helplessly, then resumed his secluded cultivation.
Meanwhile, Xuanxiao left the Yin-Yang Daoist's Daoist Temple and didn't stop until the place was out of sight.
"I almost screwed Yin-Yang over badly. That Heavenly Dao is too cunning—can't hit me, so it takes it out on others. Next time I curse the Heavenly Dao, I'd better stay far from people, or I'll end up hurting my friends." Xuanxiao muttered to himself.
Suddenly, a thought flashed through his mind, and a sinister grin like a villain's spread across his face:
"Wait, what if, when I'm fighting someone, I curse the Heavenly Dao on the side? Would it strike my opponent? If that works, then in this Primordial World, the Heavenly Dao would become my ultimate weapon. Whenever I see someone I don't like, I'd just curse the Heavenly Dao in front of them. Imagine that scene—the opponent would look utterly hopeless."
At this thought, Xuanxiao grew excited, as if he could already see the amusing spectacle.
He looked up at the void and said with mock seriousness, "Brother Heavenly Dao, I misjudged you before. Turns out you're the best to me. From now on, you're my beloved kin, my sworn brother. If anyone wants me to go against you... they'll have to pay extra!"
If the Heavenly Dao had any intelligence, hearing Xuanxiao's shameless words would probably have it fuming with rage.
"Ah, I almost forgot the main thing. I need to hurry and find my three nephews. If I'm too late and they gain sentience and leave after taking form, it'll be a huge problem." Xuanxiao finally remembered why he had come to Kunlun Mountain. Picking a direction, he hurried off.
