Background

Gu Han is a reincarnated child who awakens the Mystic Ice Sword with Innate Soul Power Level 5 in Qinghe Village. After Martial Soul Hall recruits him, he discovers the Nameless Technique, which rapidly purifies and increases his Soul Power while setting him on a path toward godhood. 1

He studies at Shuofeng Junior Spirit Master Academy, where he defeats student bullies without seriously injuring them. He later spends five years cultivating, supports Qinghe Village with his earnings and practical knowledge, and leaves for Dragon City to continue his development. 2 6

His hundred-match winning streak at Dragon City's Great Spirit Arena draws Spirit Hall's attention. Yue Guan brings him to Spirit City, where Gu Han reveals the physique-enhancing use of Whale Glue; Pope Qian Xunji subsequently accepts him as a disciple. 8 9 10

Gu Han becomes one of Martial Soul Hall's foremost young talents, cultivating alongside Bibi Dong and repeatedly visiting the people who helped him in his youth. His cultivation is marked by deliberate Soul Power condensation rather than simple pursuit of rank, allowing him to build unusually deep reserves and control. 50 137

After growing into a Titled Douluo, he assumes increasing political and military authority. He establishes the Martial Soul Empire on January 1st and becomes its emperor, imposing restrictions on human trafficking, underground fighting, and Spirit Masters who attack non-Spirit Masters. 340 342

Later, Gu Han reveals the Immortal Realm and a new cultivation system to the continent's major powers. He announces Dongfang Lingyun as his intended successor as emperor while preparing elite forces for the Immortal Realm. 517

Appearance

Gu Han is depicted as a composed swordsman with white hair, usually wearing pale or cyan robes. His restrained bearing is frequently compared to a sheathed sword. 63 167

  • Often wears cyan or white robes. 63 167
  • Carries a calm, sharp aura associated with sword cultivation. 11 63

Personality

Gu Han is disciplined, pragmatic, and exceptionally focused on long-term advancement. He avoids unnecessary conflict but does not tolerate threats to himself, Martial Soul Hall, or civilians under his protection. 2 159 303

Despite his power, he emphasizes restraint and mental cultivation. After defeating Tang Hao, he reflects on the danger of pride and complacency rather than treating victory as proof of invincibility. 162

He is grateful toward early benefactors such as Markel and Lu Rentao, supports Qinghe Village materially, and values capable people regardless of their background. 6 50 159

Politically, Gu Han is calculating and authoritative. He uses alliances, institutional rules, education, and force to consolidate the Martial Soul Empire while accepting that his methods will earn hostility from entrenched nobles. 338 340 303
