Background

Sang Qingqing first addresses Chu He as her Old Ancestor after he suppresses the dark world’s Devil Lord with a golden palm and saves her life. Realizing that she has mistaken him for a Sang Clan forebear, Chu He chooses not to correct her: he sees her aptitude and decides to remain in that world through a strand of consciousness to train her. 354

He later adopts the role more fully, calling himself Ancestor Yuan while giving Sang Qingqing a cultivation art and framing her future struggle against the Devil Lord as the responsibility of the younger generation. 355

Outside that world, Chu He is the Barbarian Domain Human Clan’s elusive Hidden Ancestor. His existence is known largely through the security and prosperity his protection has created rather than through public appearances. 199 301 422

Old Ancestor is deliberately low-key, cautious, and difficult to read. He ignores powerful outsiders unless they threaten his territory, and he refuses to risk his true body in worlds whose nature he has not understood. 95 354
