Background / History

Chu He entered the Lin Family as a lowly laborer and was assigned to its Library, a place he considered safer and more peaceful than serving elsewhere in the family. He initially kept his ambitions hidden, sweeping the Library while studying its records and using a sign-in system to obtain pills, techniques, martial skills, and treasures. 1 2 3

By age nineteen, he had spent five years in the Library. Lin Zhennan recognized his exceptional innate potential and personally offered to teach him, but Chu He refused even after learning that his benefactor was King Zhennan. He maintained that the Library had already shown him the prosperity, darkness, joy, and suffering of the outside world. 7

Although he originally intended to remain uninvolved, he gradually began acting against threats to the Human Clan. He destroyed the Zhang Family for its crimes, rescued Zhao Yuling, and helped her reach the King Realm. 29 32 Over time, his secret protection and cultivation resources helped make Lin Commandery and Liangchuan centers of Human Clan growth. 63 179 193

Chu He retains a youthful appearance despite his long life; at 614 years old, he still looked eighteen. 356 When activating the Nine Transformations Golden Body Technique, his body becomes smooth and jade-like, radiating a subdued golden glow. 7

He is patient, magnanimous, and generally tolerant of honest misunderstandings.
