Royal Fire Keeper

The Fire Keeper was originally the eldest princess of Lothric and the daughter of King Oceiros. Under the Pact of Fire Succession, the most exceptional daughter of each Lothric generation becomes a Fire Keeper, trained to wait for Surtr's return and guide her to the First Flame. 51 52 283

She has no personal name. When Surtr asks what to call her, she explains that the Fire Keeper belongs to Surtr and that Surtr alone holds the right to name her. 51

Her lineage has preserved memories of Surtr for fourteen thousand years. Solaire copied part of his flame—a Soul containing memories of fighting beside Surtr—and placed it within Surtr's remaining relic. Every Fire Keeper who inherits the eye patch can enter those memories and undergo the ancient pilgrimage alongside Solaire and Surtr. 53

Meeting Surtr

When Surtr returns to Firelink Shrine, the Fire Keeper immediately recognizes her as the Ashen One. She demonstrates overwhelming physical strength by seizing the Ashen Judge by the ankle, repeatedly slamming him into the ground, and pinning him with a Coiled Sword. 7

After Surtr learns of her identity as the first Lord of Cinder, the Fire Keeper formally acknowledges her as “Your Majesty.” She explains the fractured state of the Age of Fire, the failed kindling rituals, and the necessity of locating the awakened Lords of Cinder. 50 51 52

Pilgrimage and Service

The Fire Keeper accompanies Surtr and Frostnova through Lordran as navigator, healer, adviser, and support combatant. She can sense the locations of the Lords of Cinder, guides Surtr's route, and repeatedly uses teleportation to move the group across the continent. 54 58 59

Her loyalty remains absolute even after Surtr proposes bringing her to Terra, despite the danger and uncertainty of crossing worlds. The Fire Keeper agrees without hesitation, stating that following Surtr gives her life meaning and value. 277
