Background

Yin Jian began as a freshman at Blue Water Star University. Unlike classmates seeking an unrestrained university life, he focused on acquiring knowledge, finding stable work, and living well after graduation. While buying study materials, he was inexplicably drawn to an ancient black book bearing a crimson-gold Great Sun. Neither he nor the cashier noticed that the book was never scanned or paid for. 335

The book, later publicly known as the Yangwu Divine Tome, awakened Yin Jian from the influence of Ezhen Palace at Beihua Academy. Unknown to him, Zhang Wan was sealed within the tome and had chosen Yin Jian because of the immense fortune surrounding him. 336

He is cautious about revealing the full capabilities of the divine tome and distrustful of institutions that might seize it. Although he joins the containment system, he keeps its higher-class abilities secret and treats Zhang Wan’s gifts as “poisoned candy” rather than unquestioned blessings. 345 349 350

Yin Jian acquires the Great Sun Divine Tome and becomes involved in the Ezhen Palace massacre at Beihua Academy. He awakens Pang Bing and Long Qi, learns the dangers of Contained Objects from Li Quan and Zhang He, and uses the tome’s abilities to destroy Ezhen Palace’s domain. 335 337 340 344

Afterward, he refuses to surrender the tome to the Beihua Containment Facility but agrees to join the organization. He later uncovers Li Quan’s secret use of Ezhen Palace to revive his deceased wife, defeats him, and gains containment rewards for Ezhen Palace and the Prison Dog. 345 346

Rise Through the Containment System

With Zhang Wan’s covert assistance, Yin Jian resolves numerous containment incidents and becomes head of the Nanchuan Province Containment Department. He seeks the directorship of a Top Ten Containment Facility to gain access to its dangerous but valuable contained treasures. 348

He leads a campaign against the Asylum using broad surveillance, provincial manpower, ambushes, explosives, and divine-tome deductions. His defeat of an Asylum expert secures his appointment as Director of the Seventh Containment Facility. 350 351 352

Separation from the Divine Tome

Yin Jian ultimately obtains Drunken Immortal’s Journey and the Time Controller, becomes a Postnatal martial artist, and transforms into a half-Contained Object. Zhang Wan then reveals his true identity, explains the origins of the Contained Object World, and leaves Yin Jian with power sufficient for ten A-Class ability uses. 372

Later Life
