Background / History

|---|---|---|
| c. 100,000 years ago | Lord Cang reportedly ascended to the Divine Kingdom, brought human powerhouses to the region, and displaced the ruling Green Qi Tribe over the following millennium. 57 | Human control was established over the land that would become Cangzhou. |
| Following 4,000 years | Canglong Island was established and the land was renamed Cangzhou. 57 | The sect became the foundation of Cangzhou’s human territory. |
| Nearly 100,000 years of rule | Canglong Island governed Cangzhou’s prefectures, local offices, armies, and Martial Academies as peripheral forces. 32 | Its decrees carry authority beyond that of a conventional imperial edict. |
| Fall of Lord Cang | The Divine Palace manifested as the moon fell into the Azure Dragon River, confirming Lord Cang’s death in the Divine Realm. 201 | Flooding and shockwaves devastated several islands and shattered defensive formations. 201 203 |
Canglong Island’s historical outlook is shaped by continuous racial conflict. Its leaders teach that human territory, including Cangzhou, was won through warfare against alien races and must be defended or gradually ceded. 57
Although Lord Cang founded the island, its relationship with the Divine Palace lineage is politically separate. Island elders state that the sect has had no direct connection with that lineage since ancient times, despite their shared origin. 69
Territory
Canglong Island occupies a cluster of islands in the middle of the Azure Dragon River, which runs north to south through Cangzhou. Visitors reach the archipelago by ship, passing through outpost islands and suspension bridges before arriving at the main island. 65
- Main Island — A mountainous island resembling a small continent, with cloud-piercing peaks, waterfalls, ancient trees, palaces, training grounds, and the sect’s central administration. 65 163
- Outer Islands — Artificial islands created by sect great powers gathering sand into land; they house the families and relatives of members and disciples. 65
- Outpost Islands — Settlements near the river approaches, including towns, docks, and residential areas for non-core inhabitants. 65 141
- River Heart Islands — Residences and cultivation areas for genius disciples, including Gu Yang’s former training island. Several were shattered or submerged during the Divine Palace’s fall. 143 203
- Deacon Area — A quieter district of stone houses, cultivation rooms, armories, and other facilities for Longevity Realm deacons. 199
- Heavenly Pass — A rune-covered tower used to test practitioners’ strength through escalating floor-by-floor trials. 148
Governance and Membership
The Island Master resides primarily in the Dragon River Realm while pursuing a breakthrough to God Ascension. Day-to-day affairs are chiefly administered by Vice Island Masters Qin Wujiu and Liang Tianyou. 111
- Vice Island Masters
- Elders — Handle high-level administration, warfare, and the protection of exceptional disciples. 155
- Deacons — Cultivators who reach the Longevity Realm receive deacon status; deacons oversee recruitment, logistics, and military operations. 155 156
- Genius Disciples — Recruited through a strict Genius Assessment, graded Jia, Yi, Bing, and Ding, with high, middle, and low subdivisions. 56
- Ordinary Disciples and Martial Academy Recruits — Martial Academy students who survive racial warfare may be regarded as sect disciples pending formal admission. 107
Canglong Island follows a formal principle of rewarding merit and punishing faults. Contribution Points may be exchanged for resources through the Dragon River Realm. 73 142
Dragon River Realm
The Dragon River Realm is a World Artifact left by Lord Cang after his ascension. It can house living people, serve as a cultivation and administrative space, and permit exchanged resources to be taken back into the real world. 73 74
- The artifact spirit is addressed as Lord Canglong. 73
- It is later identified as the surviving Nascent Soul of the Canglong slain by Lord Cang. 208
- Human residents within Canglong Island’s range can be brought into the realm in an emergency, making it the sect’s greatest defensive safeguard against assassination and direct attack. 146 200
- Long-term residence is restricted because the realm’s aura taints physical bodies and causes rejection by the present world. The Island Master remains there permanently, while Vice Island Masters periodically return to the outside world. 74
- The realm contains a central city, a library, cultivation grounds, exchange facilities, and plazas used for mobilization and merit ceremonies. 73 107 246

- During the Ancient Life God Clan’s attack, deacons Liu Qing and Liu Kui coordinated defensive barriers while Mana Realm warriors held the front line. 230
- A later year of warfare saw Canglong Island’s defensive line repeatedly attacked and occasionally breached, but never fully overrun. 246
