Thirty seconds
He died like that?!
Everyone present was somewhat stunned, especially the hunters who had just spent half a day chasing the Elf Ranger.
As one of the Fear God Child, even disregarding the abilities granted by the Fear Divine Power, the Ranger Elf a fourth-tier professional. Ranger a professional level of 15 or higher are not easy to kill. In their eyes, Soren was at most a third-tier Rogue, probably not even at level 10. However, the moment he unleashed his power was beyond everyone's imagination, especially the ability to suddenly appear in the opponent's shadow—something only a high-tier Rogue could possibly accomplish!
This is the power of advanced professions: sacrificing some abilities to pursue the ultimate potential of a particular skill.
Soren's overall strength is certainly not as good as a high-level Rogue, but after advancing to Shadow Dancer, his burst of power could potentially kill a high-level enemy across five class levels.
Assassin use poison, Stalker blend into the Shadow Jump, and Shadow Dancer rely on prior knowledge of Shadow Shift!
Soren's greatest skill was Stalker; his Shadow Jump Plane in a second could evade many deadly Spell. He advanced to the level of Stalker largely because he encountered many enemies with powerful Spell. As long as Spell cannot be used Extraplanar, Stalker can dodge it by Shadow Jump.
Of all the advanced Rogue, only the Shadow Dancer has the lowest requirements to master [Shadow Shift].
Even Stalker needs over 200 Stealth points to perform Shadow Shift, but Stalker can master the Legendary ability [Shadow Domain] beforehand.
Their level requirement to open Plane Channel is about two levels lower than that of other Rogue.
The clock has ticked to the third second.
Soren drew his Scimitar and kicked the Elf Ranger's corpse to the ground. Goria, still recovering from her injuries, was deathly pale. The hunters' expressions shifted from shock to rage, for with the Elf Ranger's demise at Soren's blade, their ritual to the God of Hunt had utterly failed. The Gnoll stared at him fiercely, then his gaze fell upon Vivian beside him. Since one of the Fear God Child had died, another would have to take its place.
Time advances by one second.
Vivian's small body floated eerily in the air, her expression blank, her cute little face pale.
Suddenly, she frowned deeply, her expression turning pained.
The Elf Ranger is dead.
The Divine Power he possessed was absorbed by Soren, granting him 3 points of Divine Rank ahead of time. However, the Fear Divine Power bestowed upon the Godsbane by the Demon Lord of Fear was a power that Soren could not absorb. The power of Deity has extreme limitations; it is a power beyond the control of mortals. If one does not possess Divine Rank or the corresponding Domain, then no one can obtain this Divine Power, because it will reject your body and may ultimately kill you!
Soren is not the Fear God Child.
He could not absorb the power left by the Demon Lord of Fear within his offspring, but this power would not simply vanish. At the moment the Elf Ranger died, this Fear Divine Power began to shift, and its target was naturally the newly awakened Vivian.
The little girl showed a pained expression.
She clutched her head in her small hands, her whole body trembling slightly. As an eight-year-old girl, with a professional level below the Tier 2, she simply couldn't instantly fuse the power of two Godsbane. Moreover, judging from the Elf Ranger who had just cast the Cause Fear, he must possess considerable Fear Divine Power. To trigger the fatal effect of the Cause Fear and to frighten so many enemies above the Tier 2 to death, he must be one of the more powerful Fear God Child!
Given some time, he might even grow into one of the Fear God Child to contend for the ultimate Demon God Throne.
A powerful Divine Power erupted!
Vivian's entire body suddenly emitted light, and the Elf Ranger's corpse quickly lost its vitality. It was an indescribable feeling; although he had only just died, it seemed as if he had been dead for a long time, even though his body hadn't yet begun to decompose. The little girl's expression grew increasingly painful, and then with a scream, she suddenly fainted, her figure falling directly from the sky.
Goria opened her arms to catch her, but because she was very weak from her injury, she also fell to the ground.
Witch's Constitution is definitely inferior to that of a melee fighter.
She just had to use her Abjuration Spell, so her injuries are probably more than severe!
Soren rushed over in an instant, gripping his Scimitar and shielding the two men.
"Take her away!"
His expression was resolute, and his face was unusually grim. He said in a slightly hoarse voice, "Use Teleportation Spell! Leave now, I'll cover you while you cast the spell!"
The burst of Shadow Shift is not something to be used recklessly. If one hasn't entered the Legendary Domain, using this ability is like Barbarian's Rage instinct; the body will suffer immense consumption while traversing the Shadow Plane, and the person will immediately enter a state of exhaustion afterward. This is true for virtually all Supernatural Ability; Barbarian is extremely weak after their Rage!
Soren is not yet a Legendary Rogue.
His body was not yet able to adapt to the backlash from Plane travel; after all, it was a supernatural, Spell-like Ability, not a true Wizard's Teleportation Spell.
Even with such explosive power, a greater price must be paid, unless he masters the Legendary Skill [Shadow Domain]!
"You!..."
Goria's expression was complicated. She looked at the many enemies before her. Although Malar's followers had suffered heavy casualties, there were still at least a dozen hunters who were close to the fourth rank. All of these were enemies with a professional level of 10 or higher, and a few of them looked to be dangerous individuals with a professional level of 15. Soren was no match for these people. Not to mention that he had just used an explosive ability, even in his prime, he could not have dealt with so many enemies.
Let's go!
Soren's expression twisted in rage as he roared at her, "Retreat to the valley behind. Use Teleportation Spell to take Vivian away! I have a way to stop them."
A Spell inspiration appeared.
Soren used the Legendary Tier Elemental Crystal as his final Spell. As the rocks and soil on the ground churned, the ground in front of him directly connected to the Elemental Plane, and then summoned a fourth-tier Earth Elemental. The summoned Earth Elemental was not an advanced one. Soren directly controlled it through his will, and made it stand in front of the three people.
Fourth-order Earth Elemental.
With nearly 300 Hit Points points, it would take Soren dozens of hits to kill it, enough to hold out for a while.
"You!..."
Goria's expression was complex, a hint of struggle in her eyes, but she ultimately gritted her teeth and began casting Spell rapidly. The Northern Witch was no cowardly little woman; women who could grow into high-level Spellcaster were no ordinary people. She naturally knew the price Soren would pay for staying behind to hold them off, but if she wasted this precious time, all three of them would die here in the end. A high-level Wizard wouldn't leave herself no way out; she had already left a teleportation marker at a safe location before setting off.
Soren had no time for idle chatter; he gripped his Scimitar and charged forward, leaving Goria with only his Perseverance back.
Earth Elemental can hold off ordinary enemies, but they can't stop high-level professionals!
He needs to gain thirty seconds.
Long-distance Teleportation Spell require at least thirty seconds to cast, during which time she cannot be attacked, otherwise the Spell may be interrupted.
The enemy in front of us reacts very quickly.
The first to charge was the dark Gnoll, roaring as its muscles bulged and its veins twisted and grotesquely like earthworms—a display of the monster's Wild Rage. There were no class requirements. The fight couldn't take place near Goria, otherwise, enemy weapons could easily interrupt her spellcasting. Soren controlled his Earth Elemental, forming a wall in front of her, then leaped into the air, directly confronting the Gnoll hunter.
Clang!
A piercing crash rang out, and Soren was thrown back, a trickle of blood escaping his mouth.
Five seconds have passed.
The high-level hunters sprinted over a hundred meters and were already close in on them.
Ding ding ding!
Soren's arm was slashed by claws, a chunk of flesh torn away amidst the gushing blood. His Stoneskin still provided Protection from Energy, but it couldn't withstand the enemy's attacks. It was a hunter of class level 15 or higher. The Earth Elemental blocked the enemy's path, wielding its thick, rocky arms to force them aside. But others circled around from the side; for these high-level professionals, scaling walls was effortless, and the clumsy, slow Earth Elemental couldn't hold off so many.
Slurp!
Soren swung his Scimitar, instantly striking an enemy in the back, causing him to stagger and fall to the ground.
In the instant Tumble Evasion, two Dagger appeared in his palms.
Ding ding ding!
Fifteen seconds passed, and the tall, muscular Half-Breed Orc Warrior charged forward, cleaving a dent in the Earth Elemental's arm with a single axe blow. A fourth-tier creature could not possibly defeat a fourth-tier professional; the difference in combat skill was too great. Soren risked five bloody gashes on his back to create distance, then pointed his finger forward, and two Magic Missile out.
The Half-Breed Orc blocked the attack with his weapon, but suddenly let out a scream as an energy ray struck his eye socket!
Energy Ring.
This is a precious item that Soren has been holding back from using until now.
Twenty-five seconds have passed.
A Half-Breed Orc charged down the mountainside from the side, throwing his weapon as he did so.
A muffled sound came from the air.
The Energy Protection Field enhanced by Goria was still there, but it already showed signs of cracking. The Energy Protection Field couldn't withstand many attacks from these enemies of the third rank or higher; they could break through it within three moves under close-range slashes.
Thirty seconds have passed.
Goria completed the Teleportation Spell. The low-level Dimension Door could only teleport short distances; to leave safely, she would have to teleport to a place more than 100 miles away, otherwise she would be found by the enemy before she could recover her combat strength. The Hunter's tracking ability was stronger than the Ranger's, and the short-distance teleportation didn't even give her time to memorize the Spell again.
A Portal opened.
Goria gritted her teeth, picked up Vivian, and carried her inside. The nearby enemies had already closed to within fifty meters. At the last moment before entering, she glanced back at Soren and saw a Perseverance back covered in blood, with five claw marks tearing flesh from his back, yet he still stood as firm as a rock. For some reason, she suddenly felt a deep, unbearable pain in her heart, and a tear welled up in her eye, eventually turning into a single, unfamiliar tear that slid down her cheek.
For the first time, she felt such a strong sense of powerlessness as a high and mighty Northern Witch!
Only Legendary being could ever defeat so many enemies.
Even Wizard couldn't do it!
As Goria carried Vivian into the Portal, the hunters around them roared in fury. The Gnoll eyes bloodshot, howled and pounced on them like madmen.
Soren's expression was contorted, from exhaustion and pain; his injuries were severe.
Facing the enemies surrounding him from all sides, he grinned menacingly, muttering almost neurotically, "I've weathered so many storms, even fought my way through the Abyss three times! I refuse to believe I'll die at the hands of these trash who aren't even Legendary!"
"Goddess of Fortune, please smile upon me this time!"
"I will definitely repay you in the future! I will definitely stand by your side during the War of Gods!"
He took a deep breath.
Then, with all his might, he leaped out, forcefully breaking through the enemy's encirclement, and ran towards the cliff on the other side, which was hundreds of meters high. After using his last burst of strength to create distance, his figure suddenly disappeared from the enemy's sight.
The two Shadow Dancer ' class levels, the final one -- [Hide in Plain Sight]!
Soren entered Stealth mode. (To be continued~^~)
