Ch. 856Kill stealing!

Soren joined the Lady of Silver Moon’s battle against six hunting divine servants in Malar’s god’s realm, but he focused on stealing kills to claim their divinity and divine rank. The fight continued with the Lady of Silver Moon holding off the remaining servants while Soren waited for another chance to strike.

  • Soren realized the Lady of Silver Moon was fighting as an avatar with only part of her true strength, which explained why the six hunting divine servants could match her.
  • Soren ambushed a weakened hunting divine servant, killed him, and immediately hid again with Shadow Hide.
  • The Lady of Silver Moon cast protective and teleportation spells, then kept fighting when Soren’s stealth prevented her from drawing enemies away through him.
  • Soren waited until the Lady of Silver Moon had badly wounded another servant, then attacked again while she unleashed three Sunbursts.
  • Soren used his Hand of Death on a nearly defeated hunting divine servant.

Ch. 857[Elemental Furnace] Complete!

The Fallen Witch completed the Elemental Furnace, though its excessive output destroyed Port Nyanzaru’s Magic Lamps and required regulated energy nodes for civilian use. Meanwhile, Soren finished the battle in Malar’s realm, negotiated the spoils with the Lady of Silver Moon, and planned to search the realm before the Demon Legion’s second wave arrived.

  • The Fallen Witch activated the Elemental Furnace, and its energy surge destroyed every Magic Lamp in Port Nyanzaru.
  • Goria confirmed the furnace could power the Golem Factory, and she and the Fallen Witch planned to begin producing about ten clay golems a day.
  • The Fallen Witch said the furnace could help them activate six Adamantite Golems and eventually breach the Arcane High Tower’s defenses.
  • Soren took five of the six divine emissaries’ kills, gaining 25 divine rank points and raising his total to 130.
  • Soren offered the Lady of Silver Moon first pick of the remaining spoils and most of the temple’s stored divine power, winning her agreement.
  • Soren planned to search Malar’s realm for more valuables before the Demon Legion’s second wave arrived within three days.

Ch. 858Visitors!

A Wizard Union delegation visited Port Nyanzaru to investigate its golems and possible Arcane Empire technology, and they were astonished by the city’s prosperity and rapid construction. One visitor sensed that Port Nyanzaru Island itself formed an enormous magic circle, leading the delegation’s elder to suspect it was mythical in scale.

  • Port Nyanzaru’s covert watchers reported the arrival of cloaked visitors, who entered the city using forged identities.
  • The Wizard Union delegation explained that it had come to assess Port Nyanzaru’s golems and investigate whether the city possessed Arcane Empire technology.
  • The visitors admired Port Nyanzaru’s bustling harbor, organized roads, and signs of extensive urban planning.
  • A wagon driver told the delegation that City Hall had flattened nearby mountains with magic and golems to make room for new districts.
  • A handsome wizard identified the flattened mountain as a ley line node and declared that the entire island of Port Nyanzaru was one enormous magic circle.
  • The delegation’s elder reacted to the revelation by calling the magic circle mythical.

Ch. 859Hell invasion!

Port Nyanzaru’s preparations for the Time of Troubles were tested when a planar rift to Inferno Hell opened and fire rained from the sky. The Grand Temple’s barrier protected the city, and Soren’s forces mobilized to confront the new threat.

  • Wizard Union observers sensed that Port Nyanzaru could construct a mythal and decided to report the discovery to their council.
  • Port Nyanzaru finished replacing its magic lamps and continued reshaping the surrounding land while pale-purple crystals crackled with electricity inside iron boxes.
  • As the sky turned blood-red, Port Nyanzaru sounded the alarm, recalled workers and slaves, closed its gates, and stationed guards on the walls.
  • Fireballs fell from the sky, but the High Priest raised an Energy Protection Barrier from the Grand Temple that shielded the city.
  • The High Priest identified the planar rift as a passage to Inferno Hell, and a shadow dragon and the stationed troops marched toward it.

Ch. 860Sacrifice!

Kano struggled with his fading faith after witnessing the slaughter of villagers, but an Abyssal Gate opened over Lakeside Town and a demon legion began massacring its people. He chose to face the demons alone, his longsword glowing with the holy power of [Sacrifice].

  • Kano reflected on the deaths of villagers killed by demons, while the wood elf and Aladdin discussed the worsening dangers in the world.
  • A rift opened in the blood-red sky, releasing an organized demon legion that swept into Lakeside Town and began killing its people.
  • Aladdin urged the party to flee, and Kano told his companions to leave without him.
  • Kano walked toward the advancing demons, declaring that a paladin could not abandon the people, as holy light appeared on his longsword.

Ch. 861Salvation from the brink!

Kano awakened the [Sacrifice] domain and fought the demons surrounding him, but his companions and reinforcements from Port Nyanzaru arrived before he could be overwhelmed. The Holy Avengers, led by a young paladin wielding Carsomyr, turned the tide and sent the Balor fleeing toward the Abyssal Gate.

  • Kano’s [Sacrifice] domain empowered him beyond legendary strength, and he cut down the first barlguras to attack.
  • The Balor urged the demons to swarm Kano, who fought on despite growing injuries.
  • A mezzoloth tried to knock Kano down, but an arrow, Bronze Hammer, and Aladdin arrived to help him.
  • The halfling told Kano to look behind him as knights led by a red-haired woman and troops from Port Nyanzaru charged the demons.
  • A squad of Holy Avengers led by a young paladin wielding Carsomyr cut through the demon army and killed a legendary nalfeshnee.
  • The Balor fled toward the Abyssal Gate when he saw the Holy Avenger, and the demons’ courage broke.

Ch. 862The tide of history!

After the demon army retreated from Wind Spear Hills, Soren’s allies prepared to confront a third breach while Kano agreed to seek help controlling the deadly [Sacrifice] domain. Across the Material Plane, the Goddess of Magic’s survival preserved spellcasting and helped the Northern Witches Council, Arendelle, Wizard City, and Misty Forest repel the second wave of impact, leaving history on a different course.

  • Port Nyanzaru’s forces cleared the battlefield and prepared to move after the Witches’ Council detected a third breach, while Adele-Isabella arranged aid for displaced civilians.
  • A young paladin warned Kano that the [Sacrifice] domain was consuming his life and urged him to return with the Holy Avengers to see the [Warden]; Kano agreed to go.
  • Princess Anna coordinated Arendelle’s defense as its army sealed three Abyssal Gates and cleared the remaining demons.
  • The Northern Witches Council mobilized its Mythal, Wizard Towers, witches, and golem legions to defeat demon attacks and repel elite devils.
  • The Goddess of Magic remained alive, preserving the Weave and the Material Plane’s spellcasters, while Wizard City’s Arcane Guards defeated demons and aided nearby cities.
  • In Misty Forest, awakened treants and nearly ten legendary dryads wielding the [Plant] domain repelled the demons, preventing the devastation Soren remembered.

Ch. 863The power of Port Nyanzaru!

Port Nyanzaru’s defenders fought an invading fiend army while the High Priest coordinated reinforcements. Goria and the Fallen Witch activated a teleportation plan, bringing a legion of more than three hundred golems onto the battlefield as the city’s full strength began to emerge.

  • The High Priest used a mental link to track the battle and coordinate orders as the Wyvern Knight Corps, a shadow dragon, and Saruman arrived to reinforce the defenders.
  • Saruman raised a wall of animated vampiric vines, but the fiends charged and heavy casualties mounted among Port Nyanzaru’s militia and veterans.
  • The High Priest warned that the defenders might not hold until the main reinforcements arrived, and Goria approved activating the backup plan.
  • Goria directed the High Priest to lock onto a spatial beacon while Tower Spirit Test Subject 1 opened a temporary portal and assembled the Golem Legion.
  • More than three hundred stone, steel, and adamantite golems emerged from a portal near the battlefield and charged the fiend army.

Ch. 864Teleportation Strike!

Port Nyanzaru used its spatial beacons to teleport golems onto the battlefield against fiends from Inferno Hell, while Goria and the Fallen Witch joined the fight. The fiends began retreating, and the High Priest ordered the defenders to capture a legendary yugoloth for its valuable soul gem.

  • Port Nyanzaru's leaders used the leveled peaks as spatial beacons, and Tower Spirit Test Subject 1 coordinated the teleportation of golem legions into battle.
  • Soren's golems, the Wyvern Order of Knights, and drow warriors fought the fiends while dragon breath weakened the enemy assault.
  • Goria and the Fallen Witch teleported to the battlefield and devastated the fiends with Meteor Swarm and Sunburst.
  • Port Nyanzaru's veteran Third Legion arrived, and the fiends began to retreat.
  • The High Priest identified a legendary yugoloth to the northwest and ordered the defenders not to let it escape so they could claim its soul gem.

Ch. 865Tragic valor

Port Nyanzaru and the Misty Forest repelled the fiend and demon invasions, while the High Priest prepared to restore the temple’s power. North of Falling Leaf City, Yugin survived the victory over the demons but saw the Orc Clan’s remaining fighters and hopes for recovery destroyed.

  • The High Priest let the retreating fiends escape rather than risk more losses, while Goria examined a fiery soul gem and the witches gathered spoils from the battlefield.
  • Karena and the dryads celebrated the demons’ retreat, credited Soren’s ritual with awakening the trees, and planned to heal the forest.
  • The demon attacks eased across the world, though fighting continued in many places during the second wave of the Time of Troubles.
  • Yugin stood among the demon corpses after defeating a Lesser Demon Lord, but mourned the destruction of the Orc Clan’s fighting force.
  • Uger died fighting a Balor Chief, while Dark Blade and the wolf riders also perished, leaving Yugin with little hope for the clan’s future.

Ch. 866Negotiations

After devastating losses in the Time of Troubles, Yugin withdrew the surviving orcs to the edge of the Autumn Leaf Plain and struggled to keep his people alive. Soren offered food, supplies, and land in exchange for Yugin’s help killing the Lord of Shadows.

  • Yugin ordered the weakened orc clan to abandon most of its territory and settle near the reclaimed fields so they could survive on the remaining farmland.
  • Reports revealed widespread destruction across the Material Plane, including the burning of the southern Elven Forest, Ironforge’s destruction, and the near-annihilation of the Frostblade Clan.
  • Yugin worked the fields and focused on guiding the orcs through their food shortage despite growing criticism from members of his clan.
  • Soren met Yugin on a mountain peak and offered supplies from Port Nyanzaru and protection from Falling Leaf City in exchange for help killing the Lord of Shadows.
  • Soren promised Yugin all the land north of the Agate River after the Lord of Shadows was killed, and Yugin’s expression changed.

Ch. 867Born in the wrong era!

Soren sought out Yugin, a legendary orc war shaman, for a secret alliance against the Lord of Shadows. Yugin received food shipments from Port Nyanzaru and ordered the grain saved as seed, leaving the starving Orc Clan with renewed hope and a promise of further aid.

  • Soren judged Yugin powerful enough to help kill the Lord of Shadows and met with him in secret despite the blood feud between orcs and half-elves.
  • Two days later, Yugin sealed off woodland near the orc settlement as golems delivered grain, salted fish, and other supplies through a portal.
  • Yugin ordered the orcs to store the grain as seed and keep eating their usual rye.
  • Yugin recalled how famine had once killed more than ten thousand orcs, driving him to build an agricultural society before he attacked the half-elves.
  • Yugin added salted fish to the tribe's food and told his people to gather wild vegetables and game while they awaited the autumn harvest and further aid from Soren.

Ch. 868Tidal Force!

Soren worked to keep Falling Leaf City from reclaiming its lands and arranged to bring its remaining Half-Elves to Port Nyanzaru. After months of training against the sea, Giant broke through into the legendary domain.

  • Soren secured his cooperation with Yugin through binding oaths and an Elemental Genie’s contract, then arranged to keep Falling Leaf City’s Half-Elves from attacking the Orcs.
  • Soren sent Milan and the former Archbishop of the Half-Elf Church to encourage the remaining residents to leave Falling Leaf City for Port Nyanzaru.
  • Giant continued swinging his heavy anchor against the tides, following the training method Soren had taught him.
  • Giant felt his bloodline awaken, split a huge wave with his anchor, and entered the legendary domain.

Ch. 869The One Who Emerged!

Giant broke through to the legendary realm in Port Nyanzaru, where Soren’s long-term investments began to produce powerful allies. In the Eastern Realm, Chan and several monks witnessed a Cloud Monk emerge from 632 years of seclusion and set out to face the Ancient Evil Creature.

  • Giant’s furious roar announced his breakthrough to the legendary realm, and Goria and the High Priest praised Port Nyanzaru’s growing ranks of powerful professionals.
  • Chan accompanied the legendary monk Xu and three other monks to summon a secluded grandmaster to confront the newly emerged Ancient Evil Creature.
  • The stone figure on the mountain summit began to breathe, then crumbled to reveal an elderly Cloud Monk.
  • Xu told the Cloud Monk that it was the year 1676 of the Crescent Era and that he had been secluded for 632 years.
  • The Cloud Monk walked through the air from the cliff and departed to face the Ancient Evil Creature, telling the monks to return to their monastery.

Ch. 870The Cicada's Realization! (Third Update)

After witnessing the Cloud Monk, Chan realized how his mortal immortality differed from a true god’s and felt that the Legendary realm was within reach. As she descended the mountain, she learned about the ancient sealing of the Ancient Evil Creature, while the Time of Troubles continued to intensify as fiends prepared further raids and gods regained divine power.

  • Chan sensed that the Cloud Monk’s body was immortal but his spirit remained burdened by age, unlike a true god’s immortal body and spirit.
  • Xu told the monks that the grand-master had fought through the upper layers of The Abyss and had helped seal the Ancient Evil Creature when the Arcane Empire fell.
  • Xu said most of the grand-master’s fellow avatars had died, while one had gone to Sigil and an arcanist had traveled to Mechanus.
  • Chan resolved to study the monastery’s ancient records once she reached the Legendary realm and felt that Transcendence was close.
  • Fiends began preparing further raids on the Material Plane, while the gods quietly regained divine power and began entering the Time of Troubles.

Ch. 872Assassination!

After returning from Malar’s collapsing God’s Realm, Soren and the Lady of Silver Moon were trapped by invisible assassins serving the Lord of Shadows. The ambush began with the Lady of Silver Moon becoming the assassins’ first target while Soren faced only a few attackers.

  • Soren delayed leaving Malar’s realm to gather more rewards, then returned to the Material Plane with the Lady of Silver Moon.
  • Soren and the Lady of Silver Moon discovered that the area around them had been sealed and teleportation was impossible.
  • Soren used [Death Playback] to see that invisible assassins had killed several adventurers nearby.
  • Soren deduced that the attackers were the Lord of Shadows’ servants and that they had ambushed him at the realm’s exit.
  • The Lady of Silver Moon recognized the assassins, and they targeted her first while Soren faced only two or three enemies.

Ch. 873Counter-Kill!

Soren and Lady of Silver Moon fought off Lord of Shadows' legendary assassins after their teleportation was sealed. Soren used his tracking and rogue abilities to counter their ambushes, then vanished to turn the tables with his own assassination skills.

  • Lord of Shadows' assassins targeted Lady of Silver Moon, and Soren failed to break the spatial seal because it drew power from the Shadow Plane.
  • Lady of Silver Moon raised a shield and wielded the Staff of Four Moons as seven legendary assassins surrounded them.
  • Soren transformed into Slayer Form, revealed an invisible assassin with a divine shockwave, and killed it with Power Word: Kill.
  • Lady of Silver Moon used Time Stop and struck the assassins attacking her, while Soren warned her about a shadow wizard and fought the others.
  • Soren tracked the invisible attackers, evaded a backstab, and killed more assassins with his scimitar.
  • Soren disappeared with Shadow Hide, intending to show the assassins his own art of assassination.

Ch. 874Showdown!

Soren and the Lady of Silver Moon defeated an assassination squad sent by the Lord of Shadows, who had begun acting against them. Soren decided he needed demigod-level allies to confront his dangerous rival and considered Yugin as a potential partner.

  • Soren used his tracking and stealth abilities to counterattack the invisible assassins while the Lady of Silver Moon paralyzed them with Hold Person.
  • When the surviving assassins tried to retreat, the Lady of Silver Moon turned the ground to mud, and Soren pursued them with a divine-power-infused Gith war bow.
  • Soren and the Lady of Silver Moon left the battlefield, and Soren recognized that his conflict with the Lord of Shadows had become unavoidable.
  • Soren considered recruiting the Princess but ruled out Goria and the Fallen Witch because he did not want them risking their lives.
  • Soren thought of Yugin, the orc leader who had ascended to godhood, as a powerful potential ally against the Lord of Shadows.

Ch. 875An ambitious undertaking!

Soren returned to Port Nyanzaru and found the Golem Legion and island-wide construction projects advancing, while he planned to transform the island into an independent demiplane. With the legion nearly ready, he agreed to attack the Wizard Tower in the Shadow Plane, and the Fallen Witch warned him that it was nearly time to answer the Succubus Queen again.

  • Soren returned to Port Nyanzaru and saw that the Golem Legion had grown to nearly six hundred golems and the city had begun building its canal system.
  • Soren planned to link the island's ley lines, canals, and a future volcano to create an elemental system that could eventually let Port Nyanzaru separate from the Material Plane.
  • Goria told Soren that Vivian was stable and nearing the point when she could merge with the power of her divine rank.
  • Goria said the Golem Legion was almost ready, and Soren decided they would attack the Wizard Tower the next day if they had enough Adamantite Golems.
  • The Fallen Witch discussed the Wizard Tower assault with Soren, then telepathically told him that it was nearly time to please the Succubus Queen and that the Queen's Crest on her was still active.

Ch. 877Realization!

Soren set aside the unresolved danger posed by the Succubus Queen and focused on surviving the Time of Troubles. He gathered Port Nyanzaru’s strongest fighters to seize the Wizard Tower in the Shadow Plane, where Alice joined the expedition before the assault began.

  • Goria suspected that Soren was hiding something after Corinna’s words made him freeze, but the group postponed resolving the danger linked to the Succubus Queen until after the Time of Troubles.
  • Soren assembled Goria, Corinna, the High Priest, Saruman, the Shadow Dragon, and five Adamantite Golems to attack the Wizard Tower, leaving the newly legendary giant behind to protect it.
  • Soren surveyed the Shadow Plane Base, where the witches had isolated the tower area with a Mythal and the Elemental Furnace powered a relocated Golem Factory.
  • Alice arrived with combat-equipped Doll Girls and asked to join the expedition, and Soren accepted while warning her about the tower’s dangers.
  • The group finished preparing for battle, with the Adamantite Golems leading the way into the Wizard Tower.
